I thought I was the only one who didn't think Half-Life 2 was amazing; I liked it, but thought it was really overrated.

Infinity Ward brought about legendary multiplayer with COD:UO and COD4
I thought Treyarch, aka "The CoD developer everyone seems to hate" made United Offensive.
Edit: made when they were Gray Matter but before they got folded into Treyarch, I mean.

If a publication gives a game a low score, one important thing you must do is to go through the archives and find other, arbitrarily chosen reviews of random videogames written by the same publication in the past. Even if the review is written by a totally different person, it doesn't matter. Just get those reviews and make pointless comparisons. It will somehow make everything better.
There are a number of things you do with these comparisons. You can claim that the publication is saying that one game is better than another game: "Wait, so you gave Brutal Legend a 6.0, but you gave Half-Minute Hero a 9.0? HOW is Half-Minute Hero better than Brutal Legend, which is what you totally just implied? These reviews are a joke."
This is very accurate. |

I guess if you REALLY want to play this game we should encourage folks to pick it up on the second hand market like Ebay.
A game that uses Steam for copy-protection won't work for someone who isn't the original owner, since the key has already been activated. |

I admired Psychonauts, but never whole-heartedly embraced the game; I guess I just didn't "get it" or something.
Advent Rising had some great parts and lots of really bad ones. Probably worth $6, although the vehicle sequences are awful. The funniest sequence is when you're fighting on the outside of a spaceship and when you throw enemies off the ship they fall over the side like a marble rolling off a table instead of floating away. |

It's kind of ironic to hear that coming from Carmack, the guy who helped put online gaming on the map.
Still, I'm not going to get too upset until there's some kind of official statement. |
