My box is full And my mouth is full And my life is full And now my memory's full
In how many ways and words Can you say nothing Millions of ways and words To say nothing
What'd I say? I'm empty.
I bought the thing I taught the thing And I fought the thing
They said it's normal But they're keeping me dumb and hot You're missing something Keeping me dumb and hot You must be missing something Keeping me dumb and hot
What'd I say? I'm empty.
And I'm sending it back to you
I'm sending it back to you... on e-bay

I think what's going on here is that the president of Sony Corp. has no idea about what he's talking about: let's throw about some bandied words here... linux, open source, entertainment supercomputer. Why didn't he just say that this thing will do TIVO for ya? besides the obvious reason mind you It sounds like he has an idea of what his system will be doing, the abstract idea, not the reality of what his designers have created. This really seems to be the case with all the new systems coming out...
guys, wait till the systems come out

no, everyone doesn't cheat. people have been playing this game for a *LONG* time now. they know how to aim the guns, how the gun kicks, and exactly what level your head is going to be at when you come around that corner.

wtf happened to NARC?!? |

what happened to the classic arcade shooter where you killed balding, trenchcoat wearing evil drug users? What happened to the "DON"T USE DRUGS" message the game tried to shove down your throat?
so there are in-game side effects to using the drugs? I really doubt these in-game side effects will be able to come close to reflecting the real life consequences of experimenting with some bad speed.
and now we have the little IGN kiddies downloading videos where they can "Learn how dropping ecstasy can get you out of a jam."
please don't tell me Midway will be using the Unreal engine to develope future iterations of this type of shit.

mainly bcus I loved waiting for about 5 mins for the round to finish after I died wow. you knocked CS "mainly" because you suck at it? lol. don't like the people playing on the server you're on, then find a new server. It's not like other games where there are only a few servers with a decent ping in a given area. Find one with out these CS monkey hardcore players (hint: don't play on clan servers).

UT200X Mods |

does anyone know:
will a mod made for the windows version of UT work on linux?
or is this like asking:
if a tree falls in the woods, will it make a sound?
I've been slowly making the "switch" to linux... so far it has been a lot easier than I expected it would be. I figure I'm going to need to keep the windows partition on my gaming machine, but the more games that have native linux support, the better (less need to dual boot).
I figure I'll look around the official game boards, but thought I'd ask here as well...

We’re just knocked out. we heard about the sell out. you gotta get a game out, You owe it to the people. we’re so happy we can hardly count. Everybody else is just green, have you seen the chart? It’s a helluva start, it could be made into a monster if we all pull together as a team. And did we tell you the name of the game, boy, we call it riding the Gravy train. have a cigar.

Re: Video Capture? |

I have an AiW 9800 Pro and capturing video from cable/s-video is way too easy: there is a record button on the (free) media player software you use to watch whatever "line" (cable, s-video...) is being displayed. You can supposedly set up schedules to record at certain times, but I haven't gotten into it that much. You can also do that whole pause live tv thing... I use the card mostly to play my GameCube games on my computer though; I only played around with the DVR type stuff for a couple days after I first got it.
That said, I've found the quality of tv/video doesn't seem as good as watching it on the TV. I've played around with alot of the cable settings, but nothing seems to improve the quality. I guess I may have set something up wrong though... If anyone could shed some light it would be much appreciated.
