I wouldn't really call it evil if they're being clear about what they're going to be doing and allowing people to make an informed decision about it.
Exactly right. As long as Google fully discloses its policy to potential customers, then the company isn't doing anything even faintly wrong.
People who don't want Google's reader-bots scouring their email should just pick a different free email provider.

God, the topic of abortion brings out the stupid on some people. .... First, by selecting, or by having an illegal occupation forced upon them, prostitutes waive all legal rights while they work (in USA and Canada).
The first sentence is true. The second sentence proves the point.
Since you don't know anything about the law, maybe you should avoid the topic.

What if a pregnant woman is hit and killed by a drunk driver as she walks up to the entrance of an abortion clinic, fully intending to use their services? Is it double murder then? .... You can't have it both ways.
Yes, that's the primary point of the law. Its anti-abortion proponents want to convince people that "abortion on demand" is a barbaric policy.

jimnms: I don't care for Bush, mainly because his religious beliefs cloud his decisions on medical research.
How many people who think "religious beliefs are scary" ever reflect on the religious basis of the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights?
Locke's theory of inalienable individual rights is based squarely on religious premises.
(Not that it should matter, but I'm an agnostic.)

"Congress Moves to Criminalize P2P"
No, Congress isn't criminalizing P2P. Congress is increasing the Justice Department's authority to punish those who download/share copyrighted material.
I'm pretty sure that Blue is against game piracy. I wonder why some people think piracy becomes a sacred right if it involves music and movies. (Actually, I don't wonder since the answer is that most people are as dumb as a sack of hammers.)

New Worm Disguises Itself as Microsoft Patch
With all the trouble MS has had fixing Windows' security glitches, someone should write an article entitled, "Microsoft Patch Disguises Itself as Something Useful."

"Peter Molyneux is quite overrated, IMO."
I don't know if successful games can be summed up in one line, but you've successfully summed up Molyneux in two words.

Except for the header/logo area, the design is nice. The UGO logo's position above the Blue's News logo is really awkward. You need to put them on the same level and/or make the UGO circle a LOT smaller (and/or move UGO over to the right side of the page). Also, the racing stripes are inexplicable.
The old header combined with the rest of the new design would be teh win.

nin: I think as long as dog and owner have fun, go for it...
What's possibly "fun" about this from the dog's perspective? It doesn't understand "dressing up" and "costumes". At best, it just goes along with its owner's inexplicable behavior.
At first I thought it was an aberration when Blue wrote that he actually enjoyed the Westminster Dog Show rather than being horrified by it. Now I'm starting to see that Blue has a genuine dog problem. I think it's time for an intervention of some kind.

"I have yet to see a good looking RTS game with large armies not some 12-unit-bs 'army'".
C&C Generals is great looking and lets you control large numbers of units. There's a hack that allows you to pull the camera way back so that it looks like a real army-vs.-army RTS and not a squad-based tactics game like WC3.
