Soooooo...I've got a problem. Game loads fine, get into a server or single player, and I have texture issues. Like the word "ERROR" in red, 3D, floating all over. Especially doors. Updated to ATI Catalyst 9.10, no go. Delete and reinstall?

In fact, evidence has pointed to the contrary - as violent videogames become more prevalent in American society, youth violence has been steadily dropping over the same time period.
Aye, in fact, if I recall from a research paper I did a while back, violent crime among youth stopped climbing and started to drop in 1993...that should ring a bell, DOOM came out the same year.  |

I haven't read the whole thread (but will shortly), but the Quake series has excelled as a multiplayer series primarily in the odd numbers. The 1st and the 3rd. Yeah I know people played Quake 2 multiplayer, but for purity, it just wasn't full of win like Quake 1. Nothing can beat that speed. Then of course Quake 3 Arena was entirely MP.
The even-numbered series was always the most plot-driven story-based SP experiences. I played Quake 4 SP, thought it was excellent. I don't think I've even tried multiplayer. |

Playing on higher difficulties like expert is essentially impossible on single player since the bots are quite dumb.
Ain't that the truth. I mean, really...I understand it would be difficult to code them to be able to use explosives correctly, but is it too much to ask to be able to ask a bot for his/her explosive (and obviously have them pick them up) |

I don't know if you guys have seen the movie poster for this chapter ( here), but...is that a Strider in the background? ... Or am I just dreaming, thinking that a developer would be working on that level of devious creativity?
Sadly, you're dreaming. Looks to be the wreckage of a helicopter, which would make sense, since this is supposed to take place between No Mercy and Death Toll. |

What are you on? It's a timer showing the cooldowns on your Infected teammates' abilities, just like the respawn timer.
Yup, figured that out...that's what I get for going off of someone else's supposition and ranting before caffeine had completely kicked in. |

Yeah I just read about the recharge timer...they sure as hell better not nerf the hunter or I'm going to be pissed (if I can't wall jump my way up to the top of a building). And if you can't immediately pounce again, HTF are you supposed to be able to get away and not get slaughtered?
Or is this a recharge for their melee attacks? I guess that would be ok, as long as they don't give a recharge to the hunter's pounce. |

I'm quite happy that they're going to deliver a versus campaign that lasts 30 minutes, it might actually give me a chance to make it to the end of a Versus campaign without half my team or the other team rage quitting.
Don't count on it. |

And this person is complaining about shooting black zombies. What is wrong with this world? A zombie is a zombie! I'm as white as they come, and I routinely play as Louis...why? Because he's a system's analyst, likes going to the gun range, and prefers gothy brunettes...I relate to that more than any of the other characters.
You know what, screw it. I'm going to complain to Valve that there were entirely too many pasty-ass (really, were the hospital gowns necessary?) white folk in the first game.

Seriously, scoring a full coverage vomit spew on all survivors present, and listening to the dingdingdingdingding as your hits add up...its almost as satisfying as getting a 10-story drop-pounce as a hunter (sometimes more-so). |

| that's right...I completely forgot about Undercover. Was thinking Pro Street was the last one. But from what I heard, Undercover tanked. I'll have to look into it. |
