Remember that this lawsuit concers the ORIGINAL Postal, not Postal 2. The first Postal was an excellent game, with many innovations that carried into further top/side scrolling hybrids.
It's too bad Postal 2 ended up so spectacularly craptastic that I've lost all respect for RWS that I once had for their original creation.
Shock Value > Gameplay != Fun.

EDIT: moved the equation onto its own line for easier viewing. For those who aren't in the know: != means does not equal.

If this port is:
- prison level (shudder) - any minigame involving complexity equal to or below pressing buttons in an alternating fashion + more disarms + more weapons
Then I'll gladly pay for it. For a console shooter a lot of those levels were a ton of fun and probably the best implementation of a third-person shooter until Enter the Matrix came along (I heard PC version sucked cuz of poor control transfer, but I picked up the XBOX version and enjoyed the hell out of it).

I must be missing something here, what would the singular be?
a dat? a data set? a bit? (since more than one bit would constitute data?)
-DSR <--all this time never really thought about it.

Don't get me wrong, AQ2 was awesome and better than AHL in my personal opinion, I was merely referencing how this is a repeat of what happened with AHL, every time they got it stable Valve put out a new HL patch and it fucked the game over, and they spent months trying to fix it. AHL had far more servers than CS back in the day, but because of all these problems everyone stopped playing it and turned to CS. I'd like to think that if it wasn't for those problems AHL would have been the big conglomerate mod for Half-Life instead of CS, but more likely it'd just be bigger but CS would have still trounced it.
Back to DC, I wish they'd release incremental patches, I'm getting sick of downloading 326mb over and over, but its worth it

Glad to see they fixed this. I feel like Action Half-Life all over again, great game until the original game designers cripple it with new patches over and over
But now I can get my apache freak on again. WTG DC team!
EDIT: BTW dan, fileplanet has it. Its good to be a subscriber

This was what I was afraid of. I'm being pessimistic, but I'm afraid the Vietnam-era FPS is becoming the late 90's RTS of this era, overly saturated.
Then again they might do it good, I just don't see how they could get the battlefield style into Vietnam, but then again Eve Of Destruction mod for BF1942 does it pretty good.

Hey now scottish, I don't mean to get too off-topic but Tactics was a decent game albeit void of any plot or story. I like to think of it not as a fallout game but more like Jagged Alliance after the atom bombs fell :).
EDIT: in addition tho, BoS (not Tactics) was a piece of crap.

Is this the patch that makes the game well-produced?
Couldn't resist. Postal 1 was an excellent game, but RWS REALLY dropped the ball with this one. Very Dissapointing that they let the shock value take precedence over the gameplay.

Rock and Roll racing was one of the finest games to ever grace the Super Nintendo system. I'll be picking this one up for some serious nostalgia fun.

In the Simmer |

As much as I'd like to pick this up, I hear it needs cooking and I think I'll wait 6 months (or maybe even until the space expansion) for this one to simmer. I can deal with the bugs in Planetside because it's an immensely fun game, but when it comes to RPGs, bugs are 10x the eyesore that they are in FPS.
As for my first comment, I wouldn't mind the $15/month if they'd go just a *little* easy on the $49.95 face price, but I've looked at a lot of budgeting models and none I've seen pegs this rate at below 30% margin after *all* costs (advertising, bandwidth, servers, development, etc., fixed costs spread out over one year). In case you're wondering, games that don't even run all this equipment and sell very well (BF1942 for example) run around a 10-12% margin, which in a business is huge when you consider grocery stores have margins of 1-3%.
I just dislike gaming businesses who drive their market on how much they can get per unit, rather than how much they can get altogether by mass sales and make everyone happier. THQ is an excellent example of this, they develop their games to reach as many people as possible and design them for enjoyment.
Selling a loaf of bread for $10 to 1 person is not better than selling 10 of the same loaves of bread to 10 people for $1. Some of these marketers need to go back to Econ 101.

I agree, no reason to switch from nVidia. They just posted this rumor because they thought it might gain a shred of credit from the whole futuremark fiasco.

"we'd find a new publisher so easily it isn't even funny."
So....publisher's are just leaping at the chance to throw money into a sinkhole'd void that will have the daikatana effect of "would have been great 4 years ago"?
A bit naive I feel....
