KeyArena is a dump

I just spent the last 3 days at KeyArena (hs bb state) and I gotta agree. The seats are beat up, and in general (compared to Safeco Field and Qwest field) it's not that good. But it's got location, location, location, and it could be renovated again ...

I had a similar thing happen awhile back, but it was solved by re-seating the card. Since you've already replaced the card, obviously that ain't the problem ....

You have a good job - - get a new, Core2 system with PCIe graphics. The new Nvidia 9600 card is supposed to kick ass for relatively cheap.

BTW - - you missed another chance. Had the Pep Band at Richland HS for the 3A BB regionals. I should've given you a heads up.

Myth #6: It's possible to buy an LCD that is every bit as good, even better, than a good CRT.

I used to think that. Now all CRTs, even good ones, look blurry to me ....

You can have my Samsung widescreen LCD monitor when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

I got to see this side-by-side with a Visio 42" LCD, and the Visio was substantially better, let alone half the price. You sure you want to blow that much money?

I loved the game, but only until entering the mine. Then it got so linear that it kind of spoiled the rest of the game.

And their 1.1 patch boned the ability to save games from the Onslaught level until the end. Hope the new patch doesn't do the same ...

q{ Yeah, I was sucking life...I think when I start over I will go the other way. Who knows....game is easier with taking adam, but...who knows.....who knows....
If you rescue them instead, (SST): you get practically the same amount of Adam as if you killed them, only instead of getting it all at once you're "gifted" Adam containers periodically thoughout the game. So the Adam amount is pretty much a wash ...

And exploring is a good thing - - there's lotsa stuff out there if you go looking for it! Especially weapon upgrades!

You people smoke crack.

I gotta agree. After using KBM, controllers are clumsy, intrusive, and totally "gimped".

Don't shovel it Blue - - even if you get a foot it will still melt relatively fast.

Be lazy! Let it melt!

Speaking of being over, I finally finished Crysis tonight. I had to reinstall the whole thing to finish the last 1/3 of the game, because apparently the 1.1 patch somehow boned the ability to save/load in that last third.

I really loved the game for the first two thirds or so, but the last third wasn't that great. And the reason is simple: the first part of the game was like a "sandbox", whereas the last part was relatively linear. Sandbox type of play is so much fun, and linear type is just OK. I hope the sequels are either more or all non-linear.

19. Re: Wal-Mart drops HD-DVD Feb 15, 2008, 16:25 banddirector

Would it be crazy to use it just as a BD/DVD player?

It depends on how early you want to start enjoying HD movies. You can spend $400 now and get a machine that plays BD movies, upconverts reg. DVD's to near-HD quality, and get a PS3 to boot. Or, you can wait until summer, when the newer, 2.0 compliant BD players come out, and chances are there will be a player that's at least a hundred bucks cheaper. Is 100 clams (maybe even a little more) worth it? It's up to you.

As for me, I scored a cheap HD-DVD player add-on for my 360. Yeah, I know the format's a goner, but I also got several HD-DVDs of movies that I like and tend to watch periodically, so I'm happy for now. But this summer, as soon as the "new wave" of cheaper BD players come out, I'm going that route ....

Edit: damn you Dagok you beat me to the punch ...

Hey Half Elf, someone the other day posted about you helping out on a game because you had finished it a zillion times over - can't remember what the game was - - did you see that post?

It's very well done. And its compelling enough that it had me playing to the end.

Funny thing, I was thinking the same thing about Crysis yesterday. I'm about 3/4 finished, and I'm having a blast. I love having a weapon that I can use as either run-and-gun or sniping.

Edit: OK, I *was* having fun, but this constant barrage of aliens is getting kind of old. Wave after wave of aliens while you're basically in the same spot for 20 minutes really isn't that much fun...

I gotta agree w/ nin. Been running Vista a few months now, no problems. *With* file and printer sharing wirelessly with my two laptops.

The only reason I saved a small partition to dual boot with XP is to run Crysis a little faster and run an earlier, more-DRM free version of Roxio. Everything else is fine under Vista. I'm beginning to suspect that people who hate Vista just don't have the hardware to run it. It was the same argument when XP first came out ...
