Unless Chris Avellone and team are there, it's not Black Isle.
And Brian Fargo
and Feargus Urkhart
to give credit, the black isle team was epic.

I tried both D&D online and Lord of the Rings online (both by turbine) and I find LOTRO is more polished, I prefer it more.
Then just to give others a shot, EQ2 F2P, which was very poor as a F2P game (2 bank slots? really?).
D&D wasn't bad, just didn't pop IMO.

I remember one of the best times I had gaming was on this game.
I had picked the 47mm AT gun, dragged it out by hand since very few people ever took trucks, and parked aiming at a road between 2 bushes.
I saw a panzer driving down the road and my only shot went in between his wheels and took out his engine.
He skidded to a stop and lit up on fire, didn't see me because of the smoke and despawned shortly after.
Epic!

This was a good game, but see the first para, it was taxing, had a lot of potential though....I might pick it back up.

You need a uplay account, but not the client.
That being said I've uninstalled this game twice (closed beta and open beta).
It's pretty, decent idea, handles well...
and it amazingly biased towards a defender.
The problem is that it's in 3rd person perspective, so when a defender is hiding behind a wall (or door or car) they can move their camera angle to see what's ahead of them.
When you're attacking they pop up, bang and kill you.

I thought this used a Unreal engine since it pretty much behaved like one when I picked it up last year during the steam sale. Pretty much was hitting every tower defense game last summer to kill the time and while this was ok, it just wasn't interesting enough for me to reinstall during my winter rebuild.
I'm in the same boat, playing a lot of tower defence games on my phone and picked this up a while ago. It's a nice gimic to be able to go into 1st person and shoot too

You could always pick it up on steam for...the current SALE price of the game, and never get charged for DLC's.
75% off ATM $5 for another 30h
$8 for both 1 and 2

Awesome game, I doubt it, I've been playing the original since I got it free when I pre-ordered #2 on steam, and I'm amazed at how much of a diablo rip off it was, down the to music!
Entertaining yes, soothing my diablo fix, yup, but awesome it fails at.

That being said, I am anxious to try it and see the improvements.

It's a good thing that apple isn't losing any market share due to competition of android, otherwise alienating their customer base by changing connectors might cause people to switch to the competition that uses USB.

"but the game itself or the access to the game will be free."
Really? From an EA person? I can't see EA giving anything away.
That being said, I saw this today.

2. Re: World of Tanks Patched Jun 20, 2012, 22:03 Nighthawk

I'll support and counter that.
There is nothing wrong with the matcher, low tier tanks in battle are typically lights, which are used for scouting and placed in higher tier matches.
Zero damage penetrating hits have been explained in the blog and forum.
Ghost shells, never seen it, some that impact obstructions and you don't see land, yes, but never disappearing.
Unbalanced, on and off, nothing too bad.
Artillery "wanked" yes, still happening.

If you haven't played, try it out, it's a fun game with a bunch of whiners tossed in for sport.

If anyone is on the fence about trying this game, now is a great time to do it.
They just released new tanks, new maps, and there's more coming (in appx a month, according to the blog.)
They are also in the middle of a promotion on the "gift store" for gold and tank packages (not a necessary purchase), AND have a promo code (ENDWARNA) for a day premium access (which is +50% XP and money).
I've been playing for a while and only just tried purchasing gold, it is NOT necessary to make a balanced game.

I didn't mind republic commando, but it was...like a call of duty with star wars, a rail shooter, hell it even showed you where to get cover.
I will agree to the personality though.

I'm sure the lack of backwards compatibility has nothing to do with the adoption rate at all...
if that's still the case, I stopped listening after I read about that.
Price too.

Anyone remember Total Annihilation, when the idle development team was working on new units, and giving them away every week...because (filling in the blanks here) when you purchase their game, you're allowing them to keep their job.

It's EA, the price won't 'ever' decrease. Okay, 'ever' is the wrong term. 'For another decade' is about right though.
A time far far away?

Props to Notch

I like the idea, but for a 2010 release, I expected a bit more, it's like a cross of L4D and MW zombies, it's not as polished as it could be, and in desperate need of a model upgrade, uninstalled without prejudice
