People dont mind spending several hundred dollars on a new video card, but they bitch about 10 dollars more for a dvd drive?
And it is effecting piracy. If you think the stupid idiots here are whining like little bitches about the dvd drive, you should listen to some of the pirates complain about DOWNLOADING the dvd....

Except I think the big difference between windows and other OS's is that with OTHER OSs, just going to a WWW site or Opening an email will not completly screw your computer over...

On another forum some lawyers wayed in on the actually power of EULAs. The general idea is that they not very powerfull. The EULA apparently have even less power if you just quickly click agree/ok without looking at it at all.
Other laws could get them[modders] in trouble, like if some of their source code they distribute is just copied from the orginal, or stuff like that.
Companies just like to use the EULAs as threats with no follow through, if the EULA did have power, then they would have to have the whole agreement on the outside of the box, or be forced to give out full cash refunds to people who dont want to agreee to it.

Oh, so if you just tell someone to do something then you have no responsibility for the actions? So I guesse we should just let all those war criminals go free, because they didnt actually torture/kill people, they just "had their" soldiers do it.

Hey tony you might rethink your plan of lying on the same page the evidence is in...
Tony:"I didn't say I was going to, how did you spell it, "spread virii"! LOL " and at the bottom of this page... Tony:"I'm going to have my friend put in on the net with a nasty virus"
My guess is that you are a liar AND incredibly stupid.

The driver issue seems to be more of a crap red harring than anything now. Ati drivers used to suck alot, everyone knows that, but I got an 8500 when it first came out and since then I have not had a single problem with any game due to graphics.

I think there are actually more FPS that force you to loose your shit, and then regain it all. Lots of games even do it in the middle of the game! Half-life had it in the middle, and even Deus Ex had it..

well it depends how much your trust microsofts programming. If they programmed thier software correctly it should NOT matter that people have access the the source code, it should still be secure....

"(whos gonna pay full price for something without a box and manual). You will Garry, and so will everyone else, if that product is Counter-Strike 2 or something comparable. You'll gladly shell out $50 or $60 just like everyone else"
Well lets see, highspeed internet getting faster and cheaper, and file distribution systems getting better all the time... Lots of people ALREADY get games over the internet with NO box and NO cd. But the diffrence is that they dont pay ANY money. How would a system that charged $60 and was probably slower compare to this?

". the online playability of the system DEMANDS that everyone has the same setup, or those with the keyboard/mouse will rule all, even if they have minimal skills. it's a balance issue, and only those who think it's ok to cheat in multiplayer would think it's ok for a mouse to show up on the Xbox."
Well this sortof flys in the face of all the stupid gamepad supporters who claim that the gamepad is 'just as good'...
