Unreal is an IP the way LotR is a story about a short guy who digs jewelry. Frankly, I've always looked at UT as a UDK with art included, and Unreal and Unreal 2 were fun but not worth anything beyond a single play through, gameplay wise. With the UDK demonstrating via countless indies, the power of the engine, Epic doesn't need to put out any more 'examples'. |

Hey cool! I hope this turns out better than the UFO games. I felt those titles were alright, but neither captured what I was after in an X-Com revival. Although they came close, they all lacked a lot of major elements.
I sincerely hope this particular title copies the original Syndicate games whole heartedly and unapologetically. |

The rise of the FPS was the fall of the Flight Sim. Not sure how you're disputing this. FPS games have been blurred by all the mixed gameplay we're seeing shoehorned in, but to say that FPS is the death of Flying Sims? Yeah, no.
Flying and driving simulators have always been around and getting improved, while new forms of simulator get invented. Train simulators, trucking simulators, even a bus simulator that claims to be the most realistic presentation of driving a city bus evarrr.
Doom didn't kill any of them. Doom didn't even hold a candle to them because there were plenty of people who preferred Descent or Terminal Velocity to Doom. Hell I knew people who preferred Magic Carpet to Doom for the simple fact that Doom was limiting. Having said that, Doom was in its own genre alongside Ken Labyrinth, Blake Stone and later, Rise of the Triad. It wasn't competing with Chuck Yeager or MS FS 5.
Also, I don't remember anybody bench marking their PCs with Doom, unless by benchmarking you mean: "Yep, DX"

Well dayum. Now that Yahoo has got Facebook splattered on their searches, it's goodbye Google. Yep, that clinched it for me. I'll just uninstall this perfectly amazing browser by Google, stop using Gmail, and start conducting my business in Internet Explorer. Cause Yahoo's redesigned their search page. |

Jesus really? So it's basically a side story that has little to do with the main drive. Christ, ten dollars extra got you sweet fuck all (augmented edition my ass) and now they're bringing what, maybe four hours of single player? I'll bet it's fifteen dollars ($14.99). |
