Congrats Animish, on being next in the long line of disappointments. I'm not even sure why this is news...? EA hiring people is news now? |

| While I'm all for fans making stuff and getting funded to do so, given how much goddamned money Blizzard has, maybe they could just throw this guy a few mill and be done with it. |

Take the new Bioshock infinity for example. The removed something like 2 games worth of levels from the game. I don't hear anyone bitching about that. Wait till they're released as DLC. People will bitch plenty.
This whole deal stinks for the same reason the Thief situation stinks. Studios overstating themselves isn't a new thing but if somebody doesn't drop the hammer on these fucktards the whole industry is going to think it's okay to just put work in progress next to it and show ANYTHING.
Fuck me, I could release prescripted or even prerendered gameplay sequences, stick "work in progress" next to it, and when people are confronted with a box of shit I just laugh all the way to the bank?
I love how people argue that there's nothing wrong with this. |

After reading the comments on Blue's about the game and such, I think I have my answer...
...and that would be no... To be fair, some on Blues seem to hate certain game types or game models out of principle, so I'd never take anything as though it were a WORD OF GOD type thing. Show's free, if you have cable, and it can be streamed from the website, so might as well give it a shot. If you don't like it after a few minutes, all you've lost is a little of your time. As for the game . . . at 60 bucks, no. 10.00 or maybe 20.00, if you like Borderlands . . . possibly. I've played it, and while it's not the worst game I've ever played, I've certainly played better. Third person borderlands is a reasonably close comparison, without the cartoony look, a bit of pop up, and some possibly worse textures in places. No, the show is legitimately bad and the game I don't doubt it every bit as bad.
People on Blues may be jaded and cynical, but we have taste. And pros. And prose. |

| Ugh. The idea that 'curiosity' worked is disgusting enough; that I have to keep seeing his name pop up in Gaming news is ever more disheartening. |

Ah! Fair enough.
While it seems odd that they wouldn't want to 'share code', each engine is limited in the directions each can take.
