For me, Gamespot is the way to go. MUCH cheaper than FilePlanet and they always have the common downloads almost immediately. They usually don't get these exclusives, but they have most other files and the download speeds are as fast as my DSL can download and plus you get full access to the gigantic amount of other stuff they have. I can hold off on this demo.

"Christ, people, it's not like the demo is going to be exclusive to fileplanet forever. It'll be released to the public on Monday, for crying out loud."

I think they'll argue about this and other trivial things over and over and over. I honestly believe there is no stopping it.

Radeon 8500 here. Shimmering textures galore. Unplayable and quickly removed.

8500's are pretty cheap. It probably wouldn't cost you guys much to invest in one for a little QA.

I agree fred. That lacked any emotion and your standard dead-on humor that I have become used to...

Uhh... I think I'll get U2 without a demo... since everything I've read from those that have had the chance to play the game seem to think it is the best thing since sliced bread. Ooooooh, yeah... I'll get this one. How can you people not get chills by the fact that we will get our hands on such a probable fantasic sci-fi shooter?

I just wish I could start Metroid Prime again as if I never played it.

BTW, if you know someone that just bought a pc and are looking for some games... this is a place to start: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3606&item=3002352973&rd=1

My Gamecube has been a complete JOY. For me it was an easy choice. With Eternal Darkness, Rogue Leader and Metroid Prime (and NFL2K3), this has been some of the best gaming I've had in quite some time. Anything I want on the other two consoles will be out on the PC anyway.

Fred is not the stooge.. he's just posting meaningless crap and laughing about it (all alone probably, but so be it). You're the one responding to him as if his posts are serious.

Honestly I have never understood this talk of EF (or Heavy Metal) being short. I played it in a few days time... and loved every minute of the game. I ended up playing through it like 4 times. Now I got my time out of that game. But come on, I also played through Quake in a few days time. There are just not many FPS ACTION games that take 2 weeks to play through (bring on 89 examples). Too short? What do you expect when you blaze through a designer’s month of work in 10 minutes and don't stop to look around?

But, OK. I DO look forward to more interactive environments in games to alleviate this constant nag by some gamers.

Edit: Oh.. and I would have played The Fallen, but I never got that crappy demo of the game to play on my wonderful computer. And I don't say it was crappy because of gameplay (I have no idea if was any good), but because of the horror of texture problems I had even with my NVidia card and latest drivers.

9. Re: Not this year Dec 17, 2002, 00:04 Stolk

When so many damn good games are coming out (these days), who cares when this demo comes out. The game comes out sometime next year, and that's what is important to me. I look forward to this game as much as I look forward to DOOM3's spiffy graphics or the elusive DNF.

Actually XEON, after playing the Nightfire demo, the move to Ritual makes the game much more in the center of my radar.
