On a random note, I've been playing through the original Deus Ex again over the last few days. The levels are not as large as I remember. For the most part they are pretty small even. Still a wonderful game though, and it has made me appreciate the quality of work they did on Deus Ex: HR of implementing original Deus Ex gameplay. |

You can do that with your PC's, folks. Yep folks. Buy a PC for your living room, so you can play good looking games gooder. Even if you already own an Xbox, it's no excuse. |

When they're still trying to figure out that I want to be able to gift all extra copies of a game I own, not just selective extra copies?
Or that it makes no sense that I have to re-confirm my age to view a screenshot of a game I already own, but the program has no problem giving automatic access to my credit cards for any purchases with two clicks? A stranger can purchase thousands of games, but I can't view a screenshot? Wishing Gabe wasn't playing stupid with the question, Ray Your hardships frustrate me. |

| Yes to the last few posts. Mass Effect 1 and 2 are better games with Jennifer Hale doing the voicework. My last play through was the male Shepard. They might as well computer generate the male voice for all the emotion he has. |

| After hearing of the price changes I already cancelled streaming and have gone to 2 DVDs at a time. As long as shipping times remain as fast as they are I don't see a better deal. Last year I thought streaming was the most awesome thing they ever did but as of last month I felt I exhausted the content I cared for, unless I really care to watch ALL of Kids in the Hall. And I don't. I already have Amazon Prime simply for the shipping cost, so I'm good. If I see a better deal on straight DVD rentals, peace out Netflix! |

Get a controller for your PC and play games like this with it but at much higher resolutions and framerates with better graphics and possible tweaks and mods. If you're here I assume you are a PC gamer, so there's really no reason to play vastly inferior versions of games like this just because you don't have a controller. Damn, you really want this to happen. While I do appreciate your wonderful advice, I'l stick with my plans. While Rage and Deus Ex will be played at my PC, Batman will be played in front of my big plasma with a controller in my hand. Wireless even! |

Part of what *SHOULD* be the appeal of the game is it's horrible over-the-topness and unapologetic juvenile humor. And I love it for that. This quote (the one above, not mine) pretty much summarizes what's wrong with about 20% of the negative opinions (20% of each opinion). If you're offended by the juvenile idiocy of Duke... that's like being offended by torture in a Saw movie or blood in a zombie movie. Or, to be blunt... you're kinda an idiot. Here we go with the internet forum thing. I hate this but... I think you missed my point. For one, I "like" DNF. Secondly, I'm not offended by anything in DNF. My post was in regards to the most likely reasons reviews have been SO bad. Not just bad, but really bad. I'm sure you love it, but it's possible that that level of tasteless humor no longer works for many people, and perhaps the focus should be elsewhere, without removing it altogether. You can tell people what the POINT of a game is all day, but if they don't like it they don't care. |

You know a game is probably bad, if the mainstream review sites that often get bribes or threats to do good reviews, almost universally are giving bad reviews out. Speaking of which, PC Gamer gave DNF an 80. Hmmmmm.... |

The game can be so juvenile with it's humor and it is so incredibly forced with its bad taste. While not necessarily offensive, I find myself shaking my head at poor humor that takes away from the action and spectacle of the game.
I think Duke can continue on with success if they focus less on the vaginas and boobs and one-liners and more on the action and spectacle of a Duke game. |

| Trying to determine the quality of Duke Nukem Forever is like trying to determine the intelligence of a retarded child. I don't know how to come up with a score. I played for about 5 hours last night and had many negative feelings about things in the game, yet still somehow managed to have fun. |

That's what we can say years later. But then people bitched and whined and MOST OF THEM installed Steam to play Counterstrike and HL2. And then, they get used to it. And now they can't think of a life without Steam.
EA is bringing nothing to the table ... EA doesn't have to. They bring TOR and probably BF3 and ME3 and every other potential hit to Origin. That's all they have to do. Enough people will follow. And get used to it.
No, you do not have to follow. But enough people will as they followed Steam, as they accepted online DRM and account locked content and other annoyances just to play a popular game. Many gamers are addicted to games. They will do anything. What this guy said. EA knows what they're doing, even if we know what they're doing. |
