"There is a big difference between charging a monthly fee and displaying an ad you have to click thru once a day .. dumb ass."

Actually I've been hoping Blue would charge something to get rid of the adds. I'd be happy to pay it and at the same time, get rid of those awful things.

Personally I don't mind paying for a good product. I'm a member of Gamespot Complete and have been happy with it from day 1. As a person who is part of the business that relies on the connectivity of the internet, I'm happy to support quality service on the web with money. It was learned in a hard way how money cannot be made of the web by advertising alone.

Now I'm not to crazy about these exclusives as well, but good lord, it's just a demo. And more power to them if it helps their business. If this ends up hurting their business, well then more power to us.

He's talking about making games sell, not making them good. We already know they make good games, which was the point.

The last thing that would make this game playable is having to play through the game again. I say no to coop.

Yes they do silly. They made the game that is being modded. Might as well take a shot when I have the chance.

By ignoring Windows and Mac you can have this great game on any console... and they all work great with their controllers.

Yes, "fanboyism" could be a good way to describe whatever the hell that post was... but it seems to be more. This person is angered by STALKER or something. Why the sudden outburst about STALKER anyway?

"already paling in comparison to HL2 and Doom 3" and "run and gun gameplay"

Say what? STALKER is supposed to be completely different from those two games. But still, why the sudden outburst?

No idea.

If it is a quality game, nothing will be wasted. There are tons of fps games to play these days, but few IMO are high quality. It doesn't matter if this game comes out a year after HL2, if it is a good game... where is the waste? We all here are GAME fans, right? I'm not a CS fan, so I guess your question is not directed toward me.

After seeing that new Stalker video, I find myself really looking forward to Doom III again. I have no idea why.

I've heard something about CD burn'n that lets you back up tons of stuff. This could actually solve your problem.

8. Fine with me... Jul 11, 2003, 18:11 Stolk

I'll be the one that actually liked the demo despite its problems. If they are truly addressing complaints about the demo, this could turn out to be a very good game. I thought it had tons of potential. No doubt they've made goofs out of themselves by verbally postponing this so many times, though.

15. The latency... Jul 11, 2003, 14:04 Stolk

Out of curiousity, does anyone know if changing the latency will help eliminate buffer overruns when CD burning? I never can go above 8x.
