My 2 issues are lack of support for mouse buttons 4 and 5 and not supporting the primary mouse button being the right button instead of the left button. I amazes me that games keep coming out with these problems.

Edit: not referring to bf1942, but referring to games in general.

"why not?

half life sodomized me against my will and beat me until i performed fellatio on it

half life stole my innocence"

You're right. In that sense, it sounds pretty damn good. Which of course is my point.

Hmmm. Interesting. It seems that if Valve, rather than calling their contect delivery technology Steam, instead gave it no name and called it part of a half life update, you guys would have nothing to go off on. Everywhere you see Steam in this thread, replace it with half life. Wouldn't quite fly.

32. Re: Why do people call it Oct 28, 2003, 21:49 Stolk

"LLL could stand for Leisure suit Larry Laffer - I think that was Larry's full name."

Ah, that's right. That was his name, wasn't it. Man, memories of playing that game on my old 286 pc with a 'shades of grey' monitor. I never saw it in full color. Very cool game.

I guess I may not have a lot to add here, because it is perfectly fine for me. The only important thing to me on Blue's is the news, of which it takes less than a second to scroll to and begin reading.

...ok, so the dead space does look a bit strange.

"Since the theft of the source code, aren't there some sort of security threats using steam ? i mean .. ya, there are security threats doing anything, sure... but you know what i mean."

I'm confused. Why doesn't anyone ask these same questions of open source software. There must be a difference that I don't understand. Could someone fill me in on this?

12. Re: No subject Oct 21, 2003, 22:19 Stolk

Because it will eventually ease problems with content delivery and do away with the multiple updates that simple computers users must download to update a game, as well as those same users even knowing when they need to update a game. Not to mention that many other benefits that having the technology in place will provide just by its existence. It's a good thing, just not yet. Content delivery guys, it's coming and they've jumped in the middle of it.

Come on guys, they clearly stated recently that the sequel assumes all three endings occurred.

Here is a link to one story:

Major problem. The Direct3D and OpenGL radio buttons in the control panel are not lined up perfectly... going back to 3.7's.

"shut the fuck up you mother fucking nerds. GET A FUCKING LIFE.
GO OUTSIDE, go get some fucking pussy. Stop whining about the delay of this game.
I dont give two shits about some source code leaked. I fucking hope there are tons of cheaters that plague the online community for this game. Ill fucking laugh at it, then fuck my girl.

Oh well, with comments like this, I guess my point wasn't taken.

"no that didn't work either"

And you tried ALL executables? One exe apparantly gets called from another. I bypassed the problem by using the core executable. Well. Whatever. Good luck. Enjoy.

"Uhh well this doesn't work at all for me, screen goes blank, then it goes to the desktop. So I gotta say so far this game sucks. And I tried the settings every which way."

I had the same problem. Goto the game folder and run the game exe directly to get by that little issue.

"For some reason, this demo was slow on my Athlon XP 2200+ with 1 GB of RAM, Windows XP, and ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (AIW). Yes, I have the latest driver too."

I have basically the same system, except I have an Athlon XP 1800 and 512 of RAM, and it ran great. You have some issues to work out.

And yeah, this game looks like it will be a good one on a console, but not the PC. I was working hard just to control it.

I miss the days when Doom and Quake were the BIG THINGS and we just loved to play games.

Edit: I love to play games.
