I'm curious to see some reviews of it. It seems like years ago now when I first it and was a good bit interested. After a while I just forgot about it.
And what ever happened to that game announced years ago that would take place on land that was actually spherical to where one could actually run around the entire globe? Remember that?

Yes, I have the same chipset, and I have the same problem. I got sick of it and turned surround sound off.

Same here. I love it. And what the hell is wrong with a linear corridor shooter? They were fun 10 years ago and they're still fun... just prettier. They will always be fun. It's all about seeing bad guys and shooting. Some would say it's the way it should be. Games are open to all differnt kinds of gameplay, and the variation makes what we get great.

I agree with your take on Gamespot, padlock. Personally, I'm finding in the last year or so that they are having a difficult time judging games without making unnecessary comparisons to other games and without letting their preconceived ideas of what the gameplay would be affect their take on the game. Judge a game by itself, and judge it for what it is. Often all their reviews tell me is “I really wanted a different game”.

Nice post. Anybody read the Gamespot impressions? I swear it seems those guys must dislike a good raw shooter. The first Doom was fun then, and I spent the last couple weeks playing it and Doom 2, and they're still fun.

Personally, I'd rather have both. Having a hard copy sitting on the shelf is nice for a manual and a backup, but being able to login on any computer and having the data delivered automatically is especially sweet.

Edit: I don't play the game anymore though. Probably one of the gazillion people who still plays it can give a 100 other reasons.
