What about the kind of AI and gameplay where you can be standing in plain view of a group of enemies in their castle/dungeon/base or whatever and they don't budge until you come about 2 metres from them. This kind of AI really takes you away from the whole role playing business.

I think the game is a decent shooter but due to the multiplayer being so incredibly horrible I don't think it was worth the money even though I bought it at 10 dollars off. I can't believe how there are more q4 servers than FEAR.

Edit: everything is working fine now, thanks. It's kind of nice to start from scratch... my bookmarks and extensions were out of control. I'm just running adblock, deepest sender and I'm trying out Fasterfox.

Wooh it works. It's just too bad that qtracker doesn't have an easy filtering system in place. Gamespy3d had the best. It was so easy to just go in and make your own in the wizard if you didn't want to wait forever for an auto update. Qtracker doesn't even include any useful filters.
By the way it is really sad to see how few servers for FEAR there is and how much more servers for Q4. Q4 has fucking terrible multiplayer. FEAR MP knocks my socks off.

FINALLY!! I was considering buying it to just get the test version they were working on but then I remembered that it's not very good. Now to see if they are as incompetent at qtracker as they are at ASE. There still isn't proper Quake 4 or FEAR support with ASE.

And that Warcraft link kills my FF...
I'm finding my FF gets killed a lot. It's not from opening webpages though. Quite often when I bring up a browser window, I get a dead window. It doesn't load my homepage (Blue's :)) and just sits there with a white page and the navigation doesn't work in the window. It's just a dead window. All I can do is hit the X and open another one and keep going till one comes up. It's a pain in the ass that hasn't been fixed with any of the patches that have come out in the past several months.

That mission wasn't too tough. I just left all the imperial guard on that side of the map and carried out my regular business.
As soon as they gave me the option I stopped using predator tanks all together and just used the heavy transports... used all 20 vehicle points on them. Throw in some of those range heavy infantry and the missions were easy. All I needed were 2 transports, 1 squad of the heavy ranged infantry and 1 regular marine squad with the commander attached and it was easy to destroy anything. Add a marine squad or 2 to fight those bosses. Turrets? Once I got to storming enemy positions I didn't need any... only maybe 2 at each path into the base at the start. It was sad how easy it was on standard difficulty.. by the time I knew how to play the game and it was too easy I didn't feel like restarting everything on a harder setting.
Edit: Oh and I remembered how great it was in the last level where you have an ally. Part way through the ally had everything halt because it kept sending wave after wave of 1 squad in the centre of the main base. I had to share thousands of requisition points to get my ally back on its feet again since I was defending both mine and its points.
I'm going to try AOE3 out before the expansion to DoW. So is DoW better?
