Sucralose (Splenda) is not a perfect sugar substitute, but at least it's much better than aspartame or saccharin. I believe it's actually many times sweeter than saccharin (which itself is like 200 times sweeter than sugar), but they dilute it with maltodextrin filler.

...if someone is willing to shell out $55 for a game but they won't pay $150 to upgrade their OS from the dark ages. What a waste of time.

Ok, I wouldn't say it sucks. I'd give it maybe a 7.4 . I'd think one would have to be a fanboy to rate it in the 9's though.
I think you need to stick to 2-D titles. Either that, or maybe you just need a PC upgrade.
In all honesty, I have not played it yet, but all of the sites I've seen that have reviewed the game thus far have given it 9.3+. Those sites cannot, in their collective "wisdom", be wrong.
I was actually thinking about going to buy a copy tonight even though I have the game being delivered tomorrow. Doom 3 is an EVENT, man. Live it.

My new eVGA 6800 GT is awesome. Everything is so much better than with my "old" 5900XT. Painkiller, FarCry, Thief 3...all silky smooth. These latest benchies for Doom3 are making me even more satisfied with my decision.

So Crytek has now been driven to the dark side and captured by the Death Star of the gaming industry. Crytek will be forced to crank out another game at an unrealistic pace just so EA can make their quarter.

Then I guess you better care if HL2 will run on your system, because I can guarantee that if Doom3 won't run well on your system, HL2 won't either.

PC gamers have so much to look forward to, it's a bit ridiculous to fret. Here's a few titles just off the top of my head. If this isn't enough to keep you busy, something's wrong.
Splinter Cell 3, Doom 3, Half Life 2, CoD: United Offensive, KotoR 2, Unannounced game from Infinity Ward, Unannounced game from Bethesda, Unannounced game from Blizzard, Fallout 3, Men of Valor, Battlefield 2, Dungeon Siege 2, Unannounced game from CryTek (you know they'll do one), Pacific Assault, STALKER, Dragon Age

Epic put out the spectacularly awesome DVD Special Edition for UT2004 and still offers the game on DVD. What the heck is id's problem? They should have done something similar. Do they think they'll sell fewer units than Epic did? Yeah, right!
