Your cRaZy bingo card should be a winner what with All Lives Matter and Critical Race Theory having been previously checked. The last square you needed was fulfilled with Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone or chaz.
Congrats, you didn't even need to invoke Godwin's Law. You must be proud, it's a new personal best.
Prez wrote on Sep 19, 2020, 20:37:If you think they are inferior and need a special case, special treatment, race segregation, then its of course not pandering. Its racism.
If game devs of color were as prevalent as white game devs this probably would be pandering. As it is, it's simply a way to give increased exposure to a lesser represented group in order to get other devs of color to get into gaming, fixing the problem. Maybe we'll see one for female game devs as well. Ultimately the games have to be good or I won't care, and honestly I could care less what people think that says about me.

Merit-based success? nonsense! Check the right feel good box = You're an automatic winner
I kind of question if you are an actual person of color.
Does Systemic Racism exist in the United States?
Your answer won't be graded on a curve.

PS5 DE seems priced perfectly. No interest in the Series S with half of its specs being last gen performance. Looking towards the PS5 with Demon’s Souls and an RTX 3070 in my near future.

Top free agents in football? Lol! In which particular league would that be the case? It sure as hell isn't the NFL. No one wants to see that racist traitor anywhere. Time to boycott EA.
Ozmodan wrote on Sep 6, 2020, 18:28:It better be a lot, though, because seeing how much higher their TDP is, even the last generation would be MUCH faster with those kind of TDP numbers.
yep the 30xx cards are faster, but the ridiculous numbers that are posted in this article are absurd. The cards are NOT that fast. Wait until you see some in game testing.
It's not like your graphics card is going to explode or anything before the drivers matureThat might actually happen, like it figuratively happened with the early 2080(Ti) models. They just died because they had manufacturing flaws.

Nah, I was just thinking in terms of another 'thing' trotted out that may never really get utilized like Intel's MMX.
I remember being so hyped when I got a P1 w/ MMX back in the day. SO FUNKY!
What about the "turbo" button on my 486. Not quite sure what that thing did.
DUDE! I remember those! A friend of mine had one with a clock-like LED display that went from 33 to 66 when you hit the turbo button. Were we able to overclock 200% clock speeds with a physical button? DID THAT HAPPEN? Or am I crazy? I was pretty young at the time.
A lot of PCs had that in the Win '95 days.
A hardware switch that overclocked and increased fan speeds.
Edit: I love wikipedia, an article for seemingly everything
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbo_button
Interesting that it contradicts my memory... Says rarely used with Pentiums, but that's the only thing I ever saw them on as a kid myself. I guess I was too young for noticing the earlier usages.
Also, interesting that its actual/original purpose was to slow computers down so they could play old games... Turbo ON was the default apparently.

Oh gooodie....
Now we can look forward to even MORE game developers being lazy with smart memory usage, and even more stupid memory leak bugs etc.
I remember when games had to make do with 640kb of RAM. People made pretty great shit with low ram requirements, things most devs would look at as impossible now.

The 4k gaming flagship comes severly underdeveloped in the video RAM department with just 10 GB - not enough for 4k gaming in 2020 and on. I guess in 2021 they want to sell a 20 GB 3080 Ti to all people buying a regular 3080 in 2020. No, thanks. I can wait for either the 3080 Ti (or more likely 3070 Ti because I don't want such a hot card in my silent pc) with hopefully more RAM in 2021 or a big Navi with 12 or 16 GB VRAM this year. We will see. But this offer is just too greedy - I am not falling for it, Leather Jacket Man!
I don't believe it's the VRAM. I've not seen any glaring problems with my machine. I get close to 4K60 in Flight Sim with Ultra's settings (the game auto-selected that as a recommendation). The issue I see is with the mobo ram running at its peak of 2133 MHz. For example, my mobo and RAMM are both capable of 4000 MHz, but the mobo requires overclocking the CPU, which I won't do.
Aside: I do wonder if that is less the mobo and more the CPU. I have a 8700.
MSFS can easily use more than 10 GB VRAM. Here you can read more about it.
10 GB is not enough in 2020 unless in 2021 you want to sell a 20 GB card to the very same people who bought the 10 GB version in 2020. Bad move.
That would be where the RTX IO comes into play I assume, you don't need tons of memory if you can load stuff fast enough.

"Exploiting a bug is not cheating"
I dont remember how many times I heard that in multiplayer games, especially from the bunnyhop crowd. But I would be rich if I always got a penny for it.
Coaches of esport teams being that stupid.. Now thats something new.
I hear you, and yet real sports have this issue as well, if we consider real-life 'bugs' as holes in the rules book or vague regulations. Off the top of my head, 'hack a Shaq' was a strategy deployed by a lot of teams to slow down a prolific shooter. NBA had to change the rules around fouls to try and prevent that stratdgy from being effective. In F1, its really an engineering race to discover new car performance by exploiting the regulations in car design, for example, blowing the cars exhaust over aerodynamic elements to increase traction, even when off throttle. Eventually all the teams do it until the regulatuons are changed. Both examples are unintended consequences to how the game/competition is supposed to be played.

read speeds up to 7000 MB/s and write up to 6850 MB/s
That’s starting to embarrass my WD Velociraptor 10,000 RPM drive.
It does look tasty and I would be interested...so long as it isn't at a Samsung price point.
I have a 970 pro now for OS, but these 980s look like they will put that to shame... IF you have PCIe 4, which only AMD has right now (good ole intel asleep at the switch again). Otherwise they are crippled at like 4000 MB/s
