I have to agree with ForgedReality. The fact that they only showed the console version really makes me shiver. Some little shaky cam doesnt bother me nearly as much.

Oh well, if this turns out to be console gameplay on the PC, it will be the biggest fail in gaming history (prolly not from the financial viewpoint, since there are enough console kids that will "buy" this unreflected) and will probably mark for even the dumbest and blindest the end of PC gaming.

And here I thought Obsidian was the new Black Isle.
This looks like a japanese console action RPG for children.

Too bad, I really liked DS. But I am already used to epic IPs that get raped with consolisation, childish graphics and dumbed down gameplay.

I would still be interested, but times change and now it will most likely be a dumbed and cut down console shooter.
No thanks.

I tried to play it with normal subscription 2 months ago. I played for maybe 3 days and noticed how bad of a WoW wannabe it has become. There was almost nothing left of the once great atmosphere. Also it was pretty much deserted with almost no chance to find people who would play with a new player.
However, if you finally met someone, they were generally friendly and seemed like angels when compared to the preteen (or wannabe) douches in WoW.

The DLC (at least everything you need in multiplayer) is included in the latest patch, which has also just been released. But it has lower quality textures and sounds. So if you want the whole bling bling, you gotta buy it, but there wont be any servers that require or not require the DLC.
These guys actually still think.

Concerning the crashes: Some addons make my OA crash if I go above 5k viewing distance, but without addons (or just ACE) its rock solid even at 10k.

They announced pretty early that Aliens get a commander. I wasnt thrilled about that either and still am pretty skeptical.
To already say that it will be balanced this time is just guessing.

There ARE some very good games on that list. Maybe one day MS will actually make GFWL a decent service instead of a rancid shit-pile pain in the ass.

Decent service? What for?
They should simply remove it! We dont need 12 different versions of Steam.

Looks like you won't be doing much PC gaming going forward then. Heck, gaming in general even.

Exactly. Right now I am only playing ArmA 2 and some old RPGs (those that you actually owned and that after 12 years are still playable because they had no AF DRM).

Steam is still DRM that eliminates used sales and other customer rights and freedoms. Thats why I dont have it installed anymore and I surely wont install it for this game.
Sorry, but I am completely against all this patronizing bullshit and turning the PC into a console, so I surely wont give in to a little lesser version of it.

News Comments > StarCraft II is Year's Biggest PC Game Launch
16. Re: StarCraft II is Year's Biggest PC Game Launch Aug 3, 2010, 12:53 Muscular Beaver

PC Gaming itself will never die, unless the PC dies altogether.
But PC Gaming is already not even close to what it was a few years ago anymore and thus dead as it once was. That wouldnt be a problem if it was just changing as in getting better, but its actually getting worse and worse. Gameplay getting simpler and simpler, features getting cut each release, graphics being worse or max. as good as 3 years ago, content getting less and less, prices going up, patronizing getting more and more (gameplay-wise and DRM-wise), etc, etc.

For me SC2 is no real PC game either. Its somewhere between console port and real PC game. Most of the game is hype anyway.

Yeah it was simple and had almost no plot, but the atmosphere was fantastic.
I didnt even really try to play the 2nd part because it was crappy right from the start.
I just hope it will be similar to the first part. I could use a stupid dungeon hack and slash game again, thats simply beautiful.

I vaguely remember the fanboys that always claimed that Valves anti cheat crap is "unfailable".

Prior to this there were only about seven false positives reported, so until now it was fair enough to call it infallible, fanboy or not.

Theres always at least one that will never learn I guess.
