I hope they pull it off.. but let's be honest, those of us that are old school Tribes vets (Western Alliance!) are going to be very nitpicky about this title and very hard to please.

I just want Tribes 1 gameplay with better graphics. T2 and T3 were far too slow (though T3 beta looked very good, but was slowed down in release).
Is that so much to ask for?

Holy crap, they lifted him by grabbing his legs when he broke it? WTF???
Maybe he can sue Blizzard for some phat cash.

Anyways, I just started playing WoW again and holy crap that new patch made the game unbelievably buggy in many ways. I seriously wonder how it got out of early beta... Not to mention the HUGE balance issues.

Sounds like Warhammer
Yep. And the "streamlined trees" are also from warhammer. Everyone from now on will all have exactly the same cookie cutter build, with half the points.

I've been in the beta for 3mo? 4mo something stupid like that and I probably won't be resubbing because of the current state of healing, and how messed up it is(it feels exactly like warhammer). I mean really. Woo! I have CH which heals for a 2:4 HPM ratio, and costs 3/4 as much as our new AoE heal(~10.5k mana), which also heals for squat when you have 70-100k HP pools. Uh? Loving the whole lalala boss spams AOE at 5-9k a pop and my nomalized 3sec heal heals for 5-7k and crits for 16k.

edit: ~blarghmash tired, typo hps != hpm

Damn, I was fearing exactly that.
The first thing that came to my mind when seeing those trees was "extremely dumbed down, everyone will have the same spec now".

Yeah that's what they planned with the "new improved world PvP" in BC too.
I'll believe it when I see it.

STV was such a love/hate relationship. Like, 10 levels worth in one zone, but freaking PvP and mobs EVERYWHERE.

Haha, STV was the only zone where I actually parked my high level "in case" some jerk ganked me on my leveling one.
PvP in STV and Hillsbrad was just awesome. Its really sad that world PvP is almost nonexistent nowadays.

Yeah they need a lot of work in the engine. For example the z-fighting has become unbearable. Thats just horrible in an engine that has 10 kilometers view distance. Also for ArmA 3 they should implement better damage systems for environment and vehicles.

LOL. OMG, in their 30s or 40s! They are practically dead already! Annoyed Buddy, I was playing computer multi-player role playing games in 1980. Yes, 1980. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avatar_%28computer_game%29

I'm still here now and I don't see me going away anytime soon... Thumbsup

Sorry that you feel I pissed on your shoes, but I actually only wanted to say that people that still play that game have been playing it since release.
I myself am in my 30s and am still a gamer, I know people who are 60+ that play. Why should I judge them?

Its one of the oldest and before WoW one of the most successful MMORPGs. No wonder.

Still, I stopped after the first 6 or 7, since after that, if you paused playing for a while you couldnt find in again since people were so extremely far ahead. Same with EQ2 btw.

Phasing being the best?
You obviously dont play on a PvP server. Or did they improve it so people will see each other, no matter what?
But even on PvE servers it can be horribly annoying when you want to help friends or friends want to help you and one of you has(nt) completed the quests there so, you cant see you friends and thus cant help them either.

The only service I like is D2D or similar. Steam is only hurting PC gaming, and so are any other similar forms of DRM, dressed like "advantages for the customer".

You know those huge sales you enjoy buying games through D2D? Steam came up with that and via competition forced all the other digital delivery services to start using aggressive sales. PC Gamers as a whole won out.

Steam actually does add a lot of value.

It added more and more services like Steam, that do nothing but force the customer to use stuff he doesnt need. Ubisoft is the best example. I said that right from the start of Steam that it will only bring PC gamers more chains to their hands/feet. And it did. I also dont see the added value. I had all that before without forced DRM, and I was never too lazy or stupid to switch tasks.

Well, If I could choose I would opt for no service.

Why we need Steam of GFWL? How gamers have been playing online and getting updates beforce this services?

I do hate GFWL and do not hate Steam, but why do I need to have Steam and be Online to play Secret Monkey Island (for example).

Have you played any games that don't have an auto-patching system? It's a huge pain in the butt updating those games and you typically don't know about those patches unless you look for them. Steam allows those games to be automatically updated and gives developers easy to use tools for those patches.

The only real advantage GFWL has over steam is that it is more integrated into the game. It can be painful with steam when you have to start it first before being able to play anything.

Thats the biggest Bullshit Ive read here since a long time.
Since when do you play games on the PC? Cant be very long.

Normally you know very well when theres a new patch when the servers tell you that you have an old version. And what the f... is hard to download a patch and install it manually?
Oh and yes, I actually play games that dont have an auto-updater (ArmA 2 for example). And Ive never had problems with that because thats how it worked before.

As long as this doesn't negatively impact the quality of Witcher 2, I don't care.

Maybe its the result of its "quality".
Reminder: This time its coming out for consoles, too.

Lets hope not - on both accounts.

Activision-Blizzard is a corporation. They live from good news and die from bad ones. From my experience such numbers are often vastly overstated. If they really had those numbers, they would be proud of them and would show the population numbers on the server list. But they dont.

Anyway, Im going to play again too in winter. For whatever reason I would really enjoy leveling and some Battleground PvP again with my Druid and Mage.

Awesome?
BG 1 & 2 and IWD 1 & 2 had epic music!
I still have quite a few tracks of those, which still give me goosebumps. Some combat music tracks were simply stunning.

I'll wait and see. Will prolly wait 2 months after release again so I wont have that much frustration with it.
However, my hopes are not very high. BC was ok, even though I didnt like the setting and thus the atmosphere, and the adding of resilience destroyed my reasons to raid, but WotLK was far, far, far worse. Felt like some stupid facebook game after that.
Still I gotta say, aside from the Paladin and Deathknight crap going on for the first year (was prolly more), the PvP balance has improved. Not much, but its noticeable.
