So I did something very dumb.. |

I just went out and brought an 'upgrade' copy of the Small business edition of Office 2003 from Best Buy. (Long story as to why I had to go and get it and not the tech guy we regularly use). Anyway, turns out that the version I got is supposed to upgrade pre 2003 versions of office and not the powerpoint and publisher lacking 2003 version that I have already installed.
I discovered this as i was trying to install the software. I dont suppose anyone has any hints? because otherwise ive just brought an upgrade for office that wont upgrade my current crippled version (Which ive already paid money for).

Although they hate people who pay off their cards on time, and the rewards program costs them a small fortune, they wont remove it nor charge you for paying it off on time. Why?
Because as soon as you mismanage your debt and start to incur fees, they can up the interest rate on you, and then bleed you dry. Thats how they make me majority of their money. Fair enough you pay em off and claim the rewards, but if you fall down, they will make their money back and more.
On a different note, one of the best cards you can get is the Hilton Hhonors american express. The sheer number of points the card earns you is crazy, plus the points are very easy to trade in for free nights at hotels. Over christmas I went to salt lake city for a full week on hiltonhhonors points. Only had to pay for one night, plus redeemed southwest airline frequent flyer miles (Which is the best airline reward program out there if you ask me), so the only thing we spent cash on was food lift tickets, dirt dirt cheap!

In the off chance that blue doesent update fopr a while, does anyone know of a free remote access program, where I can remote into a friends PC (they have win98) (I have winXP) so that I can help em out with some IT stuff?

So, HL2 EP1 was released today, I know this from the newspost and resulting hundreds of comments regarding it, one thing I have been unable to discern is if it is in fact, any good?

Not only that (Although I imagine piping oil or gas to a reservior in each torch (they are usually fixed to the wall) would fix that problem), but the issue of ventilation, all those torches burning 24/7 must create a lot of toxic fumes, im surprised people can hear anything down their, what with all the extraction fans going...

Real, honest to god, multiple floors, traps, rooms, burning torches, skeletons, chains, levers, switches, iron bars and treasure filled dungeons.
Does anyone still make them? heck, did anyone even make them? or did we just make them all up?

A samll pointer regarding coffee at Starbucks et al.
They serve the same number of shots for every size of drink. Eg a medium will contain 2 shots of coffee, and a xtra large will contain 2 shots of coffee.
Therefore getting the smallest cup of coffee will give you the most caffeine for your dollar.
As another little pointer, Starbucks sells coffee in small cups, but you have to ask for them specifically (They keep em hidden), but they are there, and they are cheaper.

I have decided I am going to run for political office.
I will campaign, raise money, establish a web site, poster campaign and raise my profile in the media. I will talk with bloggers and have them help my campaign.
As the election draws near I will campaign harder for the issues that matter to people and do all that I can to win.
Over time I will build my political influence, move in the shadows and make secret power plays, amassing influence and more power, until .. finally .. I .. Can ban Enahs from having sex!

VAT is a great tax for politicians, because its added into more than just the final purchase. Often its included at different stages of the product manufacture and at different times when a product is transported.
In reality your paying more than just 17.5% and thats ontop of the 40% or so income tax...
Part of the reason i moved, Americans bitch about taxes but knowing what I know, im loving the oh so loow taxes here

No wonder it took them 6 years to produces HL2, its taken them 18 months to produce 4 hours of content.
Seriously, what are they doing all day?
It should not take this long to produce 4 hours of content.
I guarantee you that this new content, that has taken them 18 months and costing you $20 will contain content from HL2. Im talking a majority of textures and level design objects.
You heard it here first folks.

People who do not have animals as pets have certain preconceived notions about animals. Once you get a pet you realize what you previously thought was not correct.
Its true.
If your going to get a pet make sure you can give it the time and space it deserves, and make sure you get a pet that fits your lifestyle. For instance a larger dog if you like to go for long walks/runs, or small sleepy cats if you live in a van opposite someones house...
People are so often blinded by how cute the animal is that they end up getting one that just turns their life into a pain, and after a while they end up getting rid of it (This annoys me, I used to volunteer at an animal shelter, and it was one of the most common things to see "Yeah we got this dog at christmas and it keeps taking a crap on the carpet, and now we dont want it..." gah).

Tis possible some kind of Malware trying to hide from you. You have updated all your virus and spyware software and did a scanny?
Yeah checked it for spyware etc.
The list in Process Explorer reads like this:
+System Idle Process
Interrupts
DPCs
+System
it is the DPC entry that is causing the slow downs, im thinking that those first 4 entries should be pretty standard for other people right? if not, and the DPC is an anonamaly then ive got a problem
