News Comments > Preorder Colonization, Get EU3 Free
2. Re: No subject Sep 18, 2008, 16:42 Armengar

EU3 is great. Just make sure you arent attached to your family or bed, cause by the time you are bored your family will have left you and you wont have slept for months.

It is totally moddable too, I modded Japan so that it mirrored western tech rates and rules the world.

"Yes, and because of that i said earlier!!!!!, that, besides the limited installs, Securom and Steam share the same DRM principle."

no they do not. As other people have tried to reason with you. I have backed up my steam games onto DVDs using an inbuilt tool. Good luck backing up your securom games. I do not have to put a dvd into my drive to play. Good luck doing that with your securom games. I can play in offline mode. Will securom games FORCE you to go online when it chooses? Who knows - jury is out on that one.

Steam cannot be compared to this draconian DRM. At least steam can be used in offline mode. I can copy my steam backup to any PC and play from there (after signing on at least once via the web unfortunately).

But with this piece of DRM you can upgrade your PC three times and you are toast. Or maybe install in XP, upgrade to vista, buy a new gfx card for christmas then unfortunately your hdd dies and no more game.

"The spokesman said the postal worker could expect to be punished for the crimes of theft and embezzlement."

how can they prove embezzlement? He didnt interfere with the mail so he didnt convert it he simply relocated it (a key requirement of embezzlement), however he also didnt steal it as it was already entrusted to him and he had lawful posession when he relocated the mail (the whole point of an embezzlement charge).

The worst he should get is gross negligence and interfereing with the mail.

9800XTs are 5 years old. TF2 looks the same on my 9800XT machine as it does on my 4850 machine.

1000 million, bro

sure if you work in short scale.

And yes, I know the UK moved to short scale shortly after decimal...

I still remember making "wall funnels" across the entire maps. Aww the days when AI couldnt shoot down walls.

I remember the uni had ISDN interconnects for campus internet (about 256k but you used DOS browsers on altavista) then duke nukem came out. 14k was about at the time and I think that 28k came shortly after. I know that there were two standards though in the early days (noone supported USR through ISPs here) and that USR had 33k far earlier.

16. Re: patches Aug 19, 2008, 06:19 Armengar

I agree with pretty much everyone here. I loved OPF but arma was a massive letdown. Overly complicated and buggy. The AI had 6th sense, dont mention the scripting problems.

I know the latest patch will prbably fix most of the bugs but TBH I cannot be bothered to dig it out and try it again for fear I will be wasting more time.

These days i'll stick to an hour of TF2 rather than an hour on the same mission. I'll be skipping arma 2 as I have no faith in Bohemia.

I dub arena: team counter fortress strike 2

I wont be bothering with arena maps but at least they are adding content. Not bad to say I dont pay a monthly sub.

I was a die hard quake TF and then TFC but I love TF2. I still has the gameplay (and I can see "foot shots" coming back soon for the sniper!)

My sniper stats will rocket with all these stupid heavies running around.

KritzKreig may be useless on pubs but in clan matches it is invaluable. Especially on dustbowl. Get an uber or two to soak the sgs then kritz a demo - then each sticky is critical.

Nintendo must be holding back wii's on purpose. I mean seriously, they have been short on production since launch!

I live in an apartment block and there are so many wireless signals here. I wired the apartment after becoming paranoid about all the attempted hacks. Even with a .248 subnet and my 6 devices on 24/7 (with mac filtering, no ssid, wpa)

Stop calling it bloody unlimited then! That really pees me off. At least with my ISP I know I get 60gb. In fact NONE of their plans say unlimited, all of them state the cap in the name (hence im on adsl2+ 60gb) you cant go wrong!

better than our sack of shite "transco" affair in the UK. They have tried to change my meter 3 times now. First two they didnt turn up, third time they claimed there was noone in. Bunch of Juan Kerrs. Last time they tried I told em they can book a day but if the engineer doesnt ring me with a time then Im not waiting in all day again.
