Remedial training wont work (I guess). If you let her play with toys like this then a small 4lb furry poodle is all the same. Sorry, but its not good dog ownership to have let this happen.

As an ex delivery man I lose count of "he wont bite" only to be bitten seconds later - only to see the multitude of chew toys, and mangled objects. And no, I dont show fear having an alsatian of my own (rescued too with plenty of issues originally).

News Comments > Dungeons & Dragons Online Patched
6. Re: Dungeons & Dragons Online Patched Dec 17, 2009, 05:38 Armengar

PLayed this about a month ago, played to the level cap of 4 before needing to use up my points for a level icon (I havent found any in the dungeons). Played solo as none of my friends play it. Its a boring affair. Totally hack slash. There maybe one of two dungeons suited for other classes, ive come up against maybe 2 dungeons that require a rogue. I played a cleric so I was totally self sufficient (and you can have a hireling in reserve in your inventory if you are outclassed). Done almost all the dungeons on normal and hard. I needed to find parties for the "outpost defence" ones as I couldnt quite solo them.

As for DnD, Im level 4 with plate+2, +3 weapons and a racks of cash. This just wouldnt happen on tabletop. At level four you *might* have a +1 and possible full plate if you were lucky.

Bored very quickly after a fortnight.

I really dont know what the problem is. None of the updates are game breaking. You dont pay a monthly fee and it adds a bit of extra options to the game.

agreed, there are quite a few mods out there for all the TW series, you dont NEED to buy "premium content" but for those people who want polished campaigns or extra models then here you go.

Choice is better than no choice.

'cause I dont think they are worth it to me. The same reason I will never buy a new car - only ever second hand. As I said, I would prefer to be a generation behind with 2x the enjoyment for me. Sure I can see the appeal of bleeding edge technology and cutting edge new gaming but it isnt for me.

1x person at $50 is directly proportional to 2x people at $25 and with valve saying it doesnt affect their sales you can guess that it is the same. Perhaps 10% of people may purchase at full price whereas 25% of people at half price therefore an extra 5% revenue.

Maybe on public servers without admins. On GTFOGaming we have admins that get rid or silence idiots and spammers.

implanting chips in peoples brains wont happen in our lifetime. It is hard enough controlling infections from normal surgery never mind after implanting foreign objects into people.

The immune suppressants after emergency surgery are bad enough.

7. Re: Digital Pricing Can Go Up and Down Nov 19, 2009, 04:28 Armengar

I never pay full price for a game. If it doesnt have a preload at >10% off then I dont bother until it hits discount - its only a game and I can wait. I dont have cutting edge hardware so i'll be turning the visuals down anyway.

Then if there is a game I want I buy when it is on a 50% weekend on steam. It is true that it wont hurt my feelings, I just need to read blues to see when they are on offer (which I do daily anyway). So no skin off my nose. In fact I applaud this cavalier attitude as it means I am more likely to nab a bargain (hence increase steams sales as stores will never offer pretty new titles for 50%)

It isnt about being below a pain threshold, im just a savvy thrifty person. I would rather be a generation behind with twice as much than at the cutting edge with little. Sure I could go out and spend 30 now on MW2 but I would rather take the wife out to the cinema this wednesday (2 for 1 orange wednesday!), have a couple of pints each then get MW2 on a 50% off weekend. Multiply that by maybe 20 games a year and it makes a difference.

I agree with duke, most of my game collection is older stuff. It is great stuff that I still play. I mean, 15 for total war 2 was a bargain. Many hours have been played from that. L4D for 5. World of Goo for 0.01 (thats right - a penny!). Sure, I wont have MW2 but so what? I bet it will be cheap either after christmas or just before - I simply need to watch for the unplanned reduction in price. Then I'll be laughing as i'll be able to afford 2 games instead of one.

COH:OF was good. It might not have been as good as the original *but* when you have never PLAYED the original then it is just as good. Stalker has a : in it and that is a great game. Stalker2 is hardly going to be crap now. Are you also saying that Rome: Total war is crap? Or medieval: total war 2? What about warhammer: dawn of war? (I got all these games on the cheap and still play them today - apart from ROME:TW which was replaced this year by MTW2)

I think you are simply looking at maybe one of two games that might be crap. In fact your argument is silly.

I love this game but it crashes like mad on one of my home PCs. when I save there is a 50% chance it will crash. The bad thing is - it is a fresh 2 week old windows 7 build (carefully installing drivers etc) whereas my 4 year old XP machine plays it just fine.

great.

well my secondary machine is happily running a 9800XT. It plays HL2/TF2/DODs just fine. I have no intention of shifting XP off it either. I cannot remember the last time I updated the driver so i'm not too bothered.

That has been the major suck for android phones. The fact that application memory is limited. The devs response that they would have to format the SD card to propriety format hence that is why they wont is just plain stupid. I had one of the first TMobile android phones and sent it back to get an omnia instead - simply because after a dozen apps the 192mb memory (100mb reserved) was having difficulty creating swap space - whilst the 8gb card was empty.
