Yes, I am naturally biased, but I don't think it'll be as bad as you guys may think. The short version of why I think this: Dungeon Siege II. The new expansion already has lots more content than the original had, and DS2 will be full of story and content. Just keep watching. DS2 will be out before the movie.

no one disputes that Hitler had chemical and bio weapons in WW2, but he certainly did not use them...

i'll keep this short and brief.

-To the anonymous guy who blasted me personally when he put down every planet-person (that includes me)... i say from all of us collectively to you - "bite me"
okay, done w/ the flaming.
Let me continue. Yes, I am indeed biased since I work for planetdungeonsiege, but let me tell you how i got involved. It was directly from NWN. I was a hard-core D&D player since the late '80's (yes, i was one of those old skool folks who got pissed at the 2nd edition rules...), and once i heard about NWN i thought it was going to be my PC RPG saviour. But the more i delved into the NWN world, the more i heard about this "Dungeon Siege" game. Eventually I got hired on at DungeonSiegeHistorian, and the rest is the cliche of history.
Anywayz, I obviously am more informed about Dungeon Siege than the general public. And I tell you, I'm harsh on games. But Dungeon Siege still mystifies me to this day. Sure you hear how great it is, how great it will be, all of the generation leaps foward in technology that Dungeon Siege has made ad nauseum...
BUT... all of that still does not do the game justice.
I've logged well over 100 hours just playing the preview, and there's NO WAY i'm going to get bored by it.
First of all, I've only played the Single Player world (well, a little bit of playtime on the Penninsula too, but i'm still a n00b with that). There's 2 other HUGE worlds out there that will be available to those who go out and buy Dungeon Siege (and you'd better!!).
Then you add all of the mods. I'm in charge of the Siegelet page at PDS, and right now there are 18 mods already being developed. Most of these are BIG-TIME affairs, not little add-ons that can be finished in 1 sitting. This aspect of the DS world still boggles my mind and brings a HUGE smile to my face.
Speaking of mods, i REALLY REALLY REALLY doubt that NWN will be able to compete w/ DS on modability. That's a given, since NWN is a D&D game. That's fine. But also remember this: DS is a true 3D world. Everything I've heard and read about NWN leads me to believe it's more of a quasi-3D world. Trust me, I'll probably check out NWN whenever it ends up coming out (and I support delays, it's MUCH better than releasing an unfinished game... Tribes2 anyone?), but on modability, DS takes the cake.

I see both of these games as huge initial releases as well as long-term successes. They may not top The Sims, but they'll probably change RPG gaming for the better.

I just happen to think DS will change it more. Look what CT did w/ TA. There were games coming out YEARS after Total Annihilation that didn't have the technology that TA had (Red Alert2 anyone? and yes, I played that game a lot, but TA had more to it...).

Okay, I think I'm done for now. This has been fun. Make sure to check out planetdungeonsiege for all the latest, and SIGN UP FOR MY DANGED newsletter if you haven't already...
