Ok I want to see that bug...

As for Ubisoft, AC franchise and the PC, they have tailored the PC version of each game to make it look as beautiful as possible on the PC, and you would never know it unless you played the console versions of AC 3 and 4, then the PC versions.

Carmack is a ADD genius. It just takes him awhile to find the right 'shiny thing' and then wham. First games engines, then rocket engines, now 3D Goggles.
Someone I knew when I lived in Indy was a fucking genius (almost savant level), but with his OCD, and love of his diabetic wife, all he cared about was making a sugar free chocolate chip cookie for his wife. Think of Rainman with Kramer from Seinfeld's hair. He didn't care about the money, or fame, or his intelligence, he just wanted to make sugar free chocolate cookies for his wife.

There is a movie called 'It's My Party' with Eric Roberts, who plays a gay man with HIV who ends up with a very nasty disorder and decides to have a party and end his life on his own terms, after seeing several friends die from the disorder. Gay or not, it's a very powerful movie, that had me thinking about what would I do if I, or someone I knew or loved was in that situation, what would I do?
Being a very non-religious person, deep down in my soul I feel that if i were to commit suicide, that any chance to see my parents 'on the other side' would be null and void. If I knew I had a chronic illness and would die of it, I'm still not sure if I would choose suicide or not, but if someone was terminally ill and wanted to end their life, I could see being 'ok' with that.

They are our children, they are our family, and they become a source of love and joy in our lives.

Long post short, I don't think there is another creature on the planet that gives as much love back as a dog.

Isn't it a bit 'dick'ish' to say 'hey you bought the console I hate, and I'm glad your suffering' when at the end of the day, people just want to play games, and the game they really want to play isn't on YOUR console?
Hate on the companies for shoddy work is one thing, but because they just want to play games.... seriously?
Shouldn't we have a collective 'FUCK YOU!' to both PS4 and One owner's because we are elitist PC Gamers, who typically have to suffer because of the inferiority of the latest generation of console hardware?
I had a PS3 for the few games that interested me, and I have a 360, and have had a 3DS, and have a PC.
I got a NES for Mario World, SNES for Legend of Zelda/F-Zero, a Gameboy for Tetris and Robocop,Any Gameboy that had the Pokemon games, N64 for more Zelda and Mario, a Atari Lynx because it was just fucking cool at the time, a Gamecube for even more Zelda, a Sega Master System/Genesis/Sega CD for Sonic the Hedgehog, a Playstation for Warhawk and Twisted Metal, a Xbox for Halo, a 360 for more Halo and Forza/PGR Racing, and finally a PS3 for Infamous 1&2, and I bought my first PC back in 1988-1990 for the Sierra 'Quest' line of games, and yes, even for Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards
If I had the option to purchase both the One and PS4 I would. Why? Because I'm a fucking GAMER. I want to play Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5, and I really want to play Infamous 3, but I spend most of my time gaming on my phone and my PC.

And what I find is funny is either the BLOD, RROD, Yellow Light of Death, etc are all heinous crimes against the buyer of the machine, when we had to blow into the cartridges, insert a book or another game into the console, or turn the console upside down or some other trick with the NES. Hell the NES was the VW Beetle of it's time. There were 50 ways to get the damn thing to run after it died.

But to resort to petty bullshit because a gamer recieved bad hardware is stupid.

If they do like Star Wars you'll get 4 5 6, then 1 2 3, then a complete edition with both.
When was the last time a Lego game had DLC?

16. Dear Blue Nov 24, 2013, 00:00 The Half Elf

You have been here for us, day in and day out for over 20 years (?). We have shared our experiences with gaming, electronics, kitchen appliances, grilling, pets, friendships, jobs, moving, romances, engagements, family's, anniversaries, health issues, births and deaths, together.

People don't understand why I keep coming to this website after decades, and I tell them, that even though I have never met them personally, we all share something that is very real and tangible. And that is friendship. It isn't defined by our facebook friends count, or how many hits a video gets on youtube, or by how many times nin post on this website. It's defined by who we are.

I can't remember when you started this Out of the Blue part of your website, but what we got is a glimpse of a person who has done nothing but put his readers first for a very long time. And it's not easy doing that in a time where anything you say or type can be thrown in your face or used against you (especially in these times). But for those of us who know you, understand that you have taken your love of gaming and shared it with us, and more then you needed to.

Now this may sound cliche, but online this is my home. The best way I can describe it, is like my family's old Thanksgiving get together's when my father was alive. One of four boys, all married, all with 2 kids each. Gathered at one of their houses, with my Grandmother and Great Aunt there. Everyone together to celebrate just being together, and each other's company.

No thanks are needed Blue, just know, that for all the years you have been here for us, we shall be here for you.

Football game questions:
Who was the company that kicked EA's ass and sold their game for 30 bucks?
Would you be interested if that game developer made a new football series with say the Warhammer Blood Bowl franchise?

Just got home and server is dead

All I have to say is I'd pay 50 bucks for a multiplayer addon to Skyrim then purchase Elder Scrolls Online (or even play it if it was free).

I wish I could get someone at CBS to hire me to be in charge of their game division. You could put all those games on Steam and GOG with a little bit of work and make MILLIONS.
25-100 bucks for Bridge Commander Alone.

Also forgot the Starfleet Command games. Buggy as hell but so much f'ing fun online in the dynaverse (when it worked).

Sorry for your loss Blue...

..and yours Half Elf. It sounds like you have a very healthy way of looking at it.

Thanks folks but here is how I look at it. My father had a 50/50 shot at surviving the liver transplant he had, and without it he would have been dead by the end of the year. With my mom (while it was unexpected) I got to say everything I wanted to say to my mother(because my father was on a respirator his entire time at the hospital, and I was 12 and just ignorant and naive to how things worked), and while I'm not a big fan of religion, I find comfort in thinking that they are back together after 26 years of being apart.

RE: Star Trek. Uh... make a better game next time?

Nope, not possible. Star Trek games suck, it's a law of nature or part of the Matrix or even Heisenberg's (little known) Certainty principle: If Star Trek and Game are in close proximity the outcome can be determined with absolute certainty.

Just a off the top list I could come up with.

Armada 1 and 2, Starfleet Academy/Klingon Academy, Bridge Commander, DS9 The Fallen, 25th Anv. Judgement Rights, Elite Force 1 and 2, Legacy, Star Trek Online, and many more I'm too tired to google.

How many games have come out since the reboot? 2. DAC (which isn't bad but bleh), and Star Trek The Video Game.

Yeah but 1 vs how many?

I still think it's funny how opposite this console generation is compared to the last one, where Sony was the Asshole, but Microsoft had the RROD.

How is it opposite? Even if 10,000 PS4's are broken (which at this point I highly doubt there are or it would be a statistic on every single gaming site so far, at most estimated is like 1,000), that would be less than 1% failure rate.

Nowhere even close to the RROD's 15+%
or the PS3's 5%
or the Wii's 5%

In fact if they're anywhere close to 1% thats a fucking magnificent launch. There will always be hardware failures.

You may want to wait and see if Microsoft botched their manufacturing again and how many of their consoles have hardware failures tonight when the system actually launches and people start getting systems in their hot little hands before you start fanboying.

Not fanboi'ing as I plan on buying a PS4 long before a Xbox One. But go back to the launch of the 360 and PS4. Sony was telling you how you would need a second job to buy it's console, and Microsoft had the RROD issue (but if I could find the link Sony had just as many Yellow Light of Deaths over the course of it's existence, not to mention if you had a backwords compatible PS3 and it died you were screwed out the wazoo).

But (damn I can't find my links) what was amazing is how low key the PS3 deaths were compared to the 360's.

A death on a day of celebration is a hard thing to deal with. My father's on mine, and my mother's on my sisters birthday.
But it's the memories of them, that get's me through.

My condolences Blue.
