That was gold. Her reaction sounded like she knew about it aswell though... Or at least expected it.

"If your game is written in german, get the german, otherwise get the US patch. Hope that helps."

Nice idea, but UK was a whole seperate thing apparantely - I just downloaded this and setup told me it was for a different language. I assume there'll be a UK patch soon enough.

And doesn't that mean it's gonna be scripted to the yin-yang? They're trying to show off their game, and obviously the best parts of it... Why leave something to chance by letting the AI do the work, when they can script the whole thing perfectly? I've seen one E3 movie that didn't appear to be totally scripted (WW2Online), but no one's going to cheer when the AI decides to run into a wall indefinitely.

Did CMR3 not work with a wheel? I ran the demo with my MSFF wheel without a problem. Going by what happened in CMR2, you have to actually select the wheel to use to control, rather than the default keyboard.

Gibs = giblets... that was my assumption, too. Gamespy ran one of their grudge things on this subject, I think.

Congrats on the hits... I actually thought that counter was a joke.

"That iMike computer is sweet, one of the coolest mods I've seen."

Meh. Cool idea, and I give the guy credit for making it as it looks like hard work. But the end result, to me, doesn't look like it's worth the effort. There's way too much stuff sticking out everywhere.

I had no problems at all with mine. I've got the Sidewinder Game Controller Software 4.0 installed and running, and XP just accepted the FF2 and FF Wheel when I plugged them in.

The problem is only with the older ones, that connected via a gameport. FF2 and the newer FF wheel that connect to USB work fine. I wouldn't mind seeing an actual update to the FF wheel that had a more solid clamp and a third pedal (clutch).

For BF1942, there's a file that some people need to edit to allow the game to run in a refresh rate other than 60hz - VideoDefault.con. There's a line that mentions refresh rates, should be set to 1.

Air Conditioning? Bah, t'is a rare thing in this country outside office blocks and the obscenely rich. We only just got round to covering the country with electricity (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/mid/2943876.stm).

Since Blue brought it up, none of you have mentioned it, and it is an Englishman's prerogative to mention the weather at some point in the day...

26C where I am today. Was 24 yesterday. Will be mid-20's again tomorrow. Thanks to the (semi-)civilised world and our insane pollution, we're getting the best summer in a long time.

Murder is (dictionary.com) "The unlawful killing of one human by another, especially with premeditated malice." How can anyone say with a straight face that crushing someone's skull and then stabbing them many times is anything other than murder?

Why is this guy telling kids that it's okay to kill people, it's the entertainment industry's fault?

I swear I saw some video of this game a while ago, and it looked brilliant. It makes obvious business sense that releasing a game when Doom 3 AND Half Life 2 are just around the corner would be suicidal. If they're putting a few million into making the game, which would be likely, they'll want a decent return on the investment.

"When it's done" makes good sense right now.

Woo-hoo! Something to distract me from studying for exams.

Nothing better than a bit of procrastination to put off doing something for a while.

That last part sounds like one of those cheesy sex novels.

Judging from this flood of comments, it's good to see that Rocket Arena 3 is still as popular as ever.

I guess the only thing people are using Quake 3 for now is benchmarking, and that's only for novelty. Ah well.

I think the best word I can find for describing this game is "detached". There's a lack of response from the game. Is the gun even firing? Is that something hitting me? In fact, the most response I get is something shouting "Come get some" or words to that effect every time I fire a weapon.

The voice acting is terrible. Even hardcore fans of OFP wouldn't be able to listen to it. Graphics are pretty, but seem so 'now': We've been spoilt by the recent glimpses into the future.

The team behind this game has a lot of potential. I like the sound of what the game is trying to achieve. But the demo, at least, is another game that falls far short.
