Really wish I woulda gotten in to the first round. I'm at the point in FFXI where its getting pretty hard to find a group, and it's only gonna get worse. It would be nice to have a diversion for a while... Oh well, maybe my email is late (yeah right), but hopefully I'll at least make it into the next round. I NEVER make blizzards betas... *sigh*

I played the older version and have to say this one is very fun. They really did the AI too well tho, as it was insane and merciless. I barely screped through some of the scenarios on easy the first time thru, but I guess that just makes it more fun

Hmmm...their FTP site is full and they have links to mirrors, but from what I saw the mirrors only have patches up to 1.13b.

They usually don't release the new patches on FTP for a few weeks. You probably have to log into Battle.net to get it.

What about the bug that you can't see the enemies health bars if you have the fog of war off when watching replays? It's very annoying though I guess not as important to be fixed as the others were.

http://www.battle.net/forums/war3/thread.aspx?FN=war3x-general&T=721400

This is a list of bugs supposedly introduced in their last 1.13 patch (but some of them have been around a little longer than that). They removed the list of bugs fixed 1.14, so the rest are still outstanding. The one about the replays is marked as "fixed", but was not included in 1.14 for some reason.

First off it's not Mythic, it's Mythic Entertainment.
Second, it's the name of their company not their fucking game.

Sure, MOST people will tell the difference. But there could be confusion among parents or people not educated in modern games. Belive it or not, there are a lot of people who play games that don't spend as much time as you or I reading Blue's News and the like.

The words Mythic appear on both boxes. Both games are very similar in both genre and story concepts. It's really not that bad of a case.

I don't see why so many people here get so pissed off about this kind of thing. I know you spend most of your time locked up in your room and need SOME way of venting rage, but please, calm the fuck out. Mythic has a pretty good case here.

Why is everyone bashing Mythic? I have seen *FAR* worse suits than this with *obviously* less potential. I'm not suer how this one will turn out but it actually *could* be confusing to some people. Copyright may very well come into play here since everyone involved is in the games business, and the words ARE pretty similar.

Do you think you would get away with marketting an OS called Microsoft and marketting it in a confusing-but-not-actually-lying sort of way to mislead customers?

I think they have maybe a 50/50 or better shot.

They have some sort of automatic cheat detection, and ban players every once in a while. The bans have been coming more frequently lately, which is definitely a good thing. Honestly, there is no real, viable way to prevent map hacking at this point (in terms of processing power / bandwidth). You would have to do all movement computation on the server side and only send players the info they need, or even somehow just spit server generated graphics at them. That won't be happening anytime soon.

I am sitting here wondering "What the FUCK is Interplay thinking?" What kind of fucking business sense does it make to "shelve" something as highly anticipated as fallout 3? What the FUCK is going on over there? What's next, iD decides to cancel Doom III, HL2 is dropped a mere couple of months short of release? Why won't those things happen? Because that would be INSANE. God, WTF.

But I do not recall Blizzard releasing this many maps for StarCraft after the game went live. Go Blizzard!

I'm gonna have to correct you because you are SO wrong. Blizzard had a map of the week program with Starcraft that lasted a LONG time. They probably released at least 10 times more for SC than they have so far for WC3/WC3:TFT.

I read in some reviews that this game is good but horribly short (in the veign of 6 hours short). Is it really only 6 hours worth of fun?

Um wrong. Morriwnd ruled I don't remember the last time a game kept me up for nearly 24 hours at a time. It's been years... I love that feeling when you realize you've been saying "I just have to do this last thing before I quit" for hours and now it's noon on the next day.

I err borrowed this one when it first came out and I could not stand it. Everything about it is terrible, but I guess there are always those few people who can find anything fun (nascar). The UI is horrid, and the gameplay stank. If you like Generals but not War3 you have issues.

Oh, don't get me wrong I will still pick it up, at some point. (maybe once it comes to the sub $20.00 shelf.) All in all a somewhat disagreeable situation.

HAH! good luck with that. Halo was an XBox launch title and it's still $50. I keep wanting to buy it but paying full price for a 2 year old game is against my morals, good judgement, God, and the rules that govern sane behaviour.

Is this game going to top the first place team game Allegiance, or edge out Natural Selection for second? It does sound fun.

In case you aren't aware of the best multiplayer team experience to date, check out www.alleg.net. It is abandonware and a rocking good time.

cia, shut up. It is free. I'd rather the Army put out this game from it's marketing budget (which will and should always exist) than another dumb commercial. Please, STFU about this already. You paid probably 3 cents for this game. Go cry to mommy.
