There are many different ages of people who visit this site. You should consider this.
At what point did the general public become so out of control foul mouthed? seems few if any have any respect for themselves or the people around them. |

Jesus christ. The Ph.d fraud, coke-machine assaulter, e-mail forger just doesn't give up. He had a chance after ditching the Battlecruiser trademark and going with Universal Combat to try and redeem himself, atleast when it comes to games; his hatred and harassment of "detractors" and crapping on forumthreads and on usenet will never go away. But unfortunately for poor Derek "My secret middle name starts with K" Smart he just can't make good games. UC is crap, pure and simple. Not on the hindenburg scale that Battlecruiser was, but still crap.

Obviously there is a community of people out there who like and Buy his games. They continue to be unique and fun for the hard core space sim types. If They were not selling a reasonable amount he would be out of business and publishers would still not be willing to sign him. Especially since the whole world is aware that he is a "jerk" and will "sue" if you piss him off.

Someone please tell me. What the hell is wrong with you people? How can there be this many STUPID people posting in the same place? There are almost to many moronic comments here to even address. really, its completely infuriating reading the outright STUPIDIDTY on this site.
1. The Steam folder is "Bloated" because of all the games and mods and additions you have. It is no different than any other game folder on your PC. The only reason you post total CRAP like this is because you are under some delusion that you are *clever* and ooo soo cool for posting lame trolop about Valve.
2. There is nothing wrong with Preloading the game ahead of time. Its a good thing. It means that you can play the game the moment the game goes live, which is indeed different than getting up, getting in your car at 3$ a gallon and driving to some retail chain once they are open to get your game driver home and install it. IF you cant see the difference you are either RETARDED or a LIAR.
3. Then of course we have the ooo soo *clever* comments about how lame Hl2 is, which in itself is completely asinine and shows the level people are willing to go to in order to support some half baked idea they have that they want to shove down everyone elses throat.
I have yet to *EVER* read one intelligent, worthwhile *HONEST* reason for not liking Steam. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Steam. It manages games well, provides a convenient service and is easy to use. The main reason some of you hate it so much is because you are GAME THIEVES and it hinders your grubby little mitts from STEALING as much as you want to.
Oh, God forbid that some of you might actually have to be a DECENT HUMAN BEING.

All those magazines should be done away with. However at least passing a law making selling violent games or porn to minors carry a hefty fine is at least a good start.

Quake 3 + Turok (the origional) + Doom engine = Way cool game.
That really takes me back to the first demos of Q3 with them showing off the new Portal Technology. Combined with that same feel i had when playing Turok on N64 the first time all put together with some amazing level design and D3 Engine use.
Going to bee a sweet game no doubt about it.

It sucks having to wade through all the sheer STUPIDITY on this site day after freaking day.
You guys are all either uneducated people from Sudan or junior high kids. I swear.
The Royalties and revenue they get is from the umpteen other Duke Nukem properties they have produced and released over the last 10 years. Not this one. They are completely self funded.
I'd wager that when they do finish the game it will still be well received even with all the 10 years late comments. There are not that many great things going on in the PC space these days anyway. Duke Nukem with all the cool multiplayer and interactivity would be a welcome addition. Even with some dated graphics. |

There were no omega drivers in the 90's.
Ati has owned Nvidia since the release of the 9700pro. Vastly superior drivers, IQ, FSAA etc. Much better HDR support on the latest cards.
People may like Nvidia over Ati or vice versa thats ok. However to suggest that ATi hardware or drivers have been inferior to Nvidia for the last 3-4 years is nothing but fanboy foolishness.
In fact Ati drivers have been better than Nvidia drivers as a whole for at least the last 3 years. Nvidia is Still cheating on AF quality even to this day on their new 7900 cards just to win benchmarks. |

But the crazies will be sure to jump on the "video/PC games made him do it" bandwagon. Which just continues the whole messed up cycle.
Its not crazies, its true. Its a combination of the out of control nature of Video games, Movies, MTV, VH1, The music of the times.
At some point you guys are going to need to accept the truth that people are little computers. They can be programmed to respond a certain way after time. Hour after hour of immorality, violence and corruption with no checks or balances. Everyone has to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet, have their cars, boats houses etc.
While at the same time the 10 commandments, heck, even basic ethics and decency are actually being viewed as Evil while the real evil is now good. Then you all wonder why the world is such a corrupt dangerous out of control place.
But if anyone says anything about this *we* are the real bad guys and the *crazies*.

I was hoping that Episode 1 would be out this month or early next. Why is Ep2 in development when the first one isn't even done yet? Silly Valve.
No silly you for not having basic common sense or apparently understanding about the size and structure of development houses like Valve.
Valve is split into development teams working on multiple projects at the same time. Including DaD, CS, HL and other projects. The probably have in excess of 100 employees now.
What makes sense is to use your resources wisely. While ep 1 is being finised work is started on ep 2 getting all the content, textures, map work, scripting going. Later the same will hapen for ep 3 and so on. |

I think that each episode should be like a Chapter in a book, or series of a few chapters. They should have a professional writer write a script taking the story to completion and revelation of many of the sectrets in the HL universe.
Then break it down so that there are perhaps 5 episodes each containing 5 chapters of events and information. Each episode should take a minimum of 6 hours to complete. Should have several game areas to complete with the accompanying story development.
Personally i think that the whole story should work twords freeing Gordon from the G-Man by trapping him in some kind of teleport loop. That would of course be after freeing the planet from the combine and closing the gateways to their uiniverse. |

btw,
Personally i think T2 kicked the crap out of T1. T2 what a game. I will never forget the fist night of play the day i got it. I was litterally blown away the first time i got into the bomber position on the big gun ship. Flying out over the desert it just felt like you were miles in the air. The whole thing was sureal.
The vehicles, graphics, maps and the enhanced way packs worked etc just raised the bar on the whole experience for me. |

They said from the begining they are working on a Game technology test and game demo and depending on what happened they might end up working on a complete game. There was nothing in stone. That was already made perfectly clear in the intervew. |

There is a huge difference between the last Tribes game released by a team totally unrelated to the origonal, and a Tribes game made by Garage Games.
The whole "fool me once" thing has no bearing here what so ever. In fact it irritates me. Cant you freaking read? I mean seriously *DUUUUUUH*. honestly a real "major geek" would be able to figure this out in 2 seconds.
Look at the tech Videos. Even in that ultra pimitive test state its flipping OBVIOUS that that is "Real Tribes" and not that TV unreal engine junk. Look at the movement and skiing and terrain.

If someone has *oh my gosh* an *open mind* and does not prejudge everything becuase of some uninformed Mob mentality that does not make them a fanboy.
I dont own the matrix movies, I dont own any of the other Matrix game properties. This game is awesome. Its fun, it has a lot of different elements and its a cool Sci fi theme. That is all there is to it.
You guys act like the Matrix was not a hige world wide phenominon if you want. Or that you didnt think the first movie was flipping awesome. Who frikking cares. This site is full of ignorant mob mentality peons anyway.

First thing.
The Path of Neo is an awesome game. Y'all ne to shut it.
Secondly,, Its getting pretty sad that companys in the USA can no longer afford to keep us employees because everyone has to make so much freaking money, and have so many bennefits just to have a house and a car.
You guys forget how awesome the Matrix was and still is in its pure form. Like the Path of Neo. I know those dorky brothers stole the idea from an afro-american lady from the east coast, and they also totally screwed the plot over and went the wrong direction with 2 and 3. *but* The Matrix itself is a great Sci-fi property and makes for some great stories and games. |
