Glad they're making a new product on the NOLF franchise. Horrible title though, is that supposed to be funny? Also, what's the deal with a 'standalone expansion pack'? It's like a budget sequel (in this case prequel) or something?
Btw, 10 minutes of Last Flight of the Osiris is way better than 3 and a half hours of The Matrix Reloaded. Can't wait for the teaser animatrix of Revolutions!

I think Max Payne looks great. It's really like he has aged from a guy in his mid twenties to someone in his mid thirties. It's a courageous decision to change the appearance of the main character like that, but it looks great.
Great year for PC games, although I'm not too sure that MP2 is going to make it's release date. After all, weren't there a lot of delays for part one as well?

WW3, your host attempts to install gator, never a good thing if you want your project to succeed. ??? Project? Installing gator can be because it's a redirect url, you should have a popup killer installed (or use Opera).
*edit* Hadn't noticed Kenn's post: Could we just keep the meaning of the words "coop" and "team" seperated, please. Have a cup of coffee before processing these Q&A's

You have a point, LordSteev #43, and I haven't played Heretic 2 yet. Perhaps it's like that. Ritual tries to cram everything they want into a 20 month game, and Raven (which is a much larger company, btw - 100 ppl or so) takes a much more controlled look at a timetable, setting strict goals, producing a larger game and having enough time to iron out most of the bugs (I never had any trouble with the gameplay in Fakk2, but, like I said, I haven't played Heretic2 yet, so maybe I should :)). Since I don't like long games per se (for example: I thought EF was long enough, perhaps a bit too long for my taste even), I guess I like Ritual's approach of having more artistic freedom in developing a game, and less QA and raw content (in terms of gameplay time). I rather like a couple of twisted, eerie levels of Fakk2 ("Join Us! Join Us!") than a heap of generic levels of JK2 (though the game does have some good parts as well).

Agree with you Buzzfunk. You have a point about the amount of games LordSteev, but like Buzzfunk pointed out, they're all mediocore. Saying a developer sucks because of only producing mediocore games lately, is only "just plain fucking stupid" in the eyes of those who really don't see the difference between a game that's made with dedication and a game that's made to fit in a 20 month time-table and nothing more. Creston, Sin *couple* of years older than JK2 and Sof2. I think your remarks about Fakk2 don't need any replying to, still this one needs to be fielded:
lost more and more of her clothes for some reason, which ofcourse makes it the best game ever in the Levelord's mind. Not a fan of the ladies, are you

Raven sucks and Ritual rules.
Raven has been making nothing but average shooters lately: Sof(2), EF, JK2. They're all pretty good, but they don't have anything outstanding, at not a single point in any of these games have I ever stood still and thought "Wow, someone really did his best to make this level/model (EF models anyone?) something special.", never.
As for Ritual, sure the 19mb patch for Sin (which was a lot at that time) and the cancelled multiplayer patch (Fakk2Arena) are blemishes, but the fact that Sin still has a community going (including idiots' online petitions for a sequel), and that Fakk2 was simply a joy to play, had a good and light storyline, and featured some of the most impressive weaponry, monsters and a damn quick quickload, makes me beleive that Ritual has been doing very right with EF2, and would have been the best team to make Quake4 something special and outstanding.
Yes, Quake4 will be Q2 singleplayer continued, with better multiplayer support than Doom3 (it's hard to do the opposite). It'll be counterstrike in space, with cyborg spacemarines sniping each other with advanced railguns with scopes, and some kind of bfg grenade launcher (if Raven can't come up with something more crappy) to fuck up any 'old school' feeling any one may get when hearing the word 'Quake'.

I see the point, this is going to be another thread in which stupidity reigns.
Other than that, I don't see why any publisher wouldn't want a deal with a developer who finances himself, such as 3DR. Other than the occasional retarded, but entertaining, rant post by one of it's employees.

Exactly, how can they say all this, after such a crappy demo?
Again, the only reliable preview is a negative preview. Think about it, if the previewer really thought the game was that good, then why wouldn't the developer just release it.

This demo is crap, for one thing, I couldn't get the controls to work, I couldn't walk forward. Otherwise everything ran smoothly, which is nice since my computer needs upgrading. Haven't checked much of the game out, voice acting is poor, though it's nice they tried to do a Clint Eastwood thing for the tutorials (it's nice how, when you fail to do something (like being able to only fire one grenade at that tank..) he gets mad and makes you do it again.).

That's good marketing for ya
They've already shipped 4.5 million copies cross platform..
John Romero should come back to pc gaming. Most certainly not developing Daikatana, but another game and not as project manager.

Read the site;
*Support for ATI 9600 and newer cards. *Support for Nvidias latest drivers. *Speed improvement up to 25%. *Vertex blending. Now animations can blend between up to 4 bones for realistic smooth joints and facial animation. What you see in Max or character studio is what you get in the engine. *New dmf export settings in MAX Plugin. (STATIC, ANIMATED, VERTEX_EFFECT). STATIC = map object or otherwise non-animated object. ANIMATED = export for use with skeletal animation VERTEX_EFFECT = export for use with vertex effects (@Explosion effects). *Alpha cutout support for transparent textures like fences, gratings, etc. Note this works with bump maps also. *Portal polygon dropping fixed. *2048 texture support
Editor features: *Real time lighting preview located under VIEW > SCENE RENDER. This will load the ss file off your hard drive into the editor, similar to how ssview functions. Future builds you will be able to adjust lights and move entities around for real time editing. *The tilde (~) key is now a quick clone-selections key. It will create a clone of your selection and offset the new copy over and up by the amount of the grid. Making stairs is very fast with this feature. *Rotate 45 and 90 degree buttons on toolbar, and some new more intuitive toolbar buttons. *Lines parallel to the view can now be selected by moving the cursor right on top of the end point. This allows selecting and dragging the corner of a brush in parallel view similar to the feature we have for for selecting side polygons. To help with this feature, points are now rendered in line mode so you can tell if you have a parallel edge selected because you will see that it looks like a single selected point. *Improved line and vertex cursor precision. *MOUSE PAN feature. Middle mouse button will now PAN your view in supredit the direction you move the mouse. *MOUSE WHEEL ZOOM. Mouse wheel will zoom in and out. *Textures are "baked" upon loading. This precalculates lighting from the normal map and the diffuse so that you can align the textures better in the editor. *FILE > COMPILE now works. Support for ATI 9600 or up? Great, what an accomplishment!
