near-identical? Obviously you never really got into TA then. SC sucks in comparision to TA.

This was actually passed up in most reviewers yes by Starcraft, and I have no idea why. TA is a much better game, much more involving. I love the fact that you could play for 5 hours and it felt like 30 minutes.

BTW Arm Zippers are teh best units ever!

These developers need to take a clue from Blizzard with what they have done. It is done when it's done, period. No release dates set in stone, anything on the net is pure speculation. This keeps the customer happy, with the fact that they know they will get a "done" game. When you see a "gold" message here on blues, that's when the suprise sets in. I like that kind of thing, I don't like walking in to EB, finding out that the game is due out Sept. 30th, and go there only to find out it was pushed to April, and now back until Q3/4.

This may just be a game to some people, but for a lot of us it is a hobby, and playing HL is getting old. We've been waiting awhile for this game.

Quite frankly, I'm not too concerned with Doom3, because in the end it will come out and kick ass, because it is id.

Hey I know! Let's just get rid of all the laws and hope everybody does the "right" thing. But what does "right" mean now?

There's a bit of a difference here. We're simply talking about some bullshit law banning games with the M rating to be sold to minors like tobacco, alchohol is, etc..

The simple fact is, you can sit down and explain to someone that it is not right to kill someone in real life, but it is in the game.

Two responses:

1) #4, I was mearly posting something that might happen. I for one don't see anything wrong with GTA3. It's a game, so sue me if I'm one of the few people who can differentiate the pixels on a screen to someone standing in front of me.

2)#7 (DrHaggard), Where do you get off calling me irresponsible? You do NOT know me. So maybe I can say this (I'm assuming you have kids). Take the time out of your so called busy day to sit down and talk to your kid and EXPLAIN the difference of killing a rendered person/object on the screen than assuming people are irresponsible for giving someone a GAME. It is a god damned GAME.

I don't understand where if I give someone a game that they can associate it with doing that action in real life. Maybe I've been playing games too long or something, but the fact is, @ columbine it WASN'T the games that made those kids kill their fellow students & teachers, it was the fact that they were picked on and they were in a state of depression. When you are depressed you think irrationally. Games don't make you depressed, non-social activity with both your peers & family coupled along with being made fun of gets you depressed.

It seems, my two friends, that you have let the media get the best of you and make you think more how the media wants you to, rather than think for yourselves. If you did think for yourselves, you'd realize what I have said is true.

I wonder when the government (U.S.) will realize that they can't stop a product from getting to anyone. Sure, they make it illegal, and it makes parents 'happy'. End result, the parent will then see that the kid still has the game (either from a friend or downloaded), and the parents will still blame the government then for pirated software.

What are they going to do? Arrest me (I'll be 19 tomorrow) for giving my little cousin(who's 10) GTA3 for his birthday? Wish people would just realize the truth.

You hit this smack dab on the head, but I like my analogy better:

"Another company making a sequel without any of the original developers with a say in it is like if someone had made Episode V of the Star Wars set, it just wouldn't have been right."

23. Re: Texas Chili Dec 31, 2001, 13:06 dougp

Eating meals with several of my Hispanic friends, I do have to agree, with the kind of chili we eat, is not eaten down there. But the chili con carne form is on top of lots of things. It's not normally as spicy or eaten by itself. Used normally to wet things up, or to contrast the flavor.

Actually, any chili with meat in it, specifically beef, would make it chili con carne. and actually, that's not Texas chili, it's Mexican chili. I live in San Antonio, about 45 minutes south of Austin.
