"You also forgot to add, which one did the US Army use?
Unreal Tournament. Which makes sense, considering it's government spending "
Actually I believe it is either 125,000 or 3xx,000 to license the Q3 egine up from the previous 25~28k for quake 2. I have no clue as to the cost of Unreal technology, but I'm quite sure thge Unreal Tournament Build was A LOT less than 125,000.
Also, What engine does the infamous Duke Nukem Forever use ;P?
Lol, sorry I couldn't resist.
{edit)#128, check this out"Doom was apparently shown running on a 2.2Ghz system using some sort of ATI graphics card. " http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/news/0,10870,2867326-2,00.html

Well I've scrolled past this story about 3 times today on the main page thinking "DX2" reminds me of IW2 or some other sequel from an original I never played. The a few minutes ago I just read all of today's news whether bad or good, and thought "DX2...that couldn't be...no surely not". I read and then w00t!. Full Throttle, now Deus Ex 2 Holy Crap! Its a good time to be a gamer.
And about deus ex 1 graphics...umm i think you all complaining never played it on a system sometime in 2000 when it came out. The game ran only "decent" on a geforce 256 sdr and it is the reason many people bought a voodoo 5. Deus Ex ran like butter on a voodoo

It looks nice, but reminds me of jediKnight II as far as the envirnments go...etc. I wish they would have gone the Doom III / Unreal technology path, but It'll be a nice game for sure.
Kinda like the original SOF. It used the Q2 engine, and used it well. You could tell the game was no quake3, and I think Raven will do the same with EFII.

Christmas 2002. Id hasn't made anything completely in-house since Q3 in 1999. In March 2001 they showed the first demo footage and nothing since. I have a feeling this year's quakecon will be one for the books

I don't know why everyone is off dissing Kreed. I mean come on, the game looks sweet! I have a feeling this is how Unreal 2 shoulda looked (at least indoors). These shots are so atmospheric, god, its gonna be one heck of a fall!

I was about to talk about the sweetness of the game Kreed, but then thought "Jim you are a dumbass, this is breed, not kreed".
So I felt the need to share my stupidity

They've had their stuff and they can have more. I get cynical when I think about how their major "A+" title is based off a movie, no matter how cool it was...
Perry is a great guy, but he needs to write less books and write better code!

As far as advanced graphics settings are concerned all you need to know is the german word hoch = high. Let that be you guide to tweaking the graphics.
The game seems very true to its roots (whatever they may be). The character's shadow outdoors is the best realtime shadow om gaming history. You will walk near a fountain int he first town. Watch the shadow as it creeps upon the wall when next to the fountain -beautiful. The colors remind me of FAKK2, but the games detail is much greater.
You won't be able to read the dialogue (unless you speak german ) and the english menu music is a mystry within itself, but all in all this is something you need to try.
-------- I ran it on an athlonxp with Raedeon 7500 video
Also, is it me, or is this the most stable game you have played in a while

MDK was the very first PC game I played all the way through, so shiny has a special place in my heart. It was a P133 w/o 3d acceleration and 32MB RAM, win3.11 (ran game in dos). In fact I would go as far as to say MDK is my favorite game ever. Messiah had some very high points from a pure asthetic POV and I enjoyed playing it.
These memories are 2~6 years in the past however and since sacrifice, shiny hasn't released anything PC side. Interplay isn't "rolling in dough" so I can understand why someone had to go, but its a shame it had to be shiny.
