All comes down to the monthly fee. If there's a monthly fee, the game had damn well better have everything in it accessible to those paying it. Not even Star Wars has the legs to support a scam scheme payment setup with a monthly fee and microtransactions. |

Police Use Acoustic Warfare to Disperse |

That's people for you. Rarrr arrrrr stop tasing us! Go back to shooting us with guns! And here, don't annoy us with loud noises! Go get your fire hose and tear gas! And then, how much of that trouble would have been avoided completely if the protesters had obeyed the law to begin with and gotten a permit? From what I can tell, the noise gun was only there because a protest without a permit is only a couple steps from being a riot.

| Our patent and trademark laws are so fucked up. Where else in the world can you get a patent for "associating a piece of data with multiple categories?" Not here in the United States - someone already did! |

| I get problems now and then but I think mine are mainly from infected backups from years ago... I don't know why I back up so much stuff if I still have data from the late 90s that I haven't restored anywhere. I guess I'm a digital pack rat. Anyway, having AV around helps me with that, but only if it's free. I don't think I'd ever pay for AV software when I can be cautious and sensible for free. |

I'm moving onto that old age of 31. I guess I'm dying or something, doesn't do it for me. Hell, I'm 25 and I didn't get anything out of it either. |

| Think the industry is enjoying this new idea of re-releasing old stuff to make a quick buck. I suppose at least this will increase the odds of being able to get an old game in an obviously legal way without paying through the nose for it on eBay. |

Coordination could really shine in that game. I remember one guy who organized a full team of pilots. He hid his mobile HQ in the woods repairing and rearming us while we kept blasting the shit out of a base. Never had a shooter experience like that - the disarray we caused with such a simple plan against a fortified enemy was just amazing. Unfortunately, at least when I played during the free period, there weren't enough fun experiences like that for me to justify paying for it. Mostly just uncoordinated clusterfucks in the general direction of the enemy.

| Had more problems with ATI cards myself. Last card I got, I forget what it was in either case but I tried 3 of the ATI card before I gave up and went with Nvidia. I don't know if I was spectacularly unlucky in getting 3 separately defective cards but I can't imagine it was a power issue unless that card needed a nuclear reactor. |

| I think it's more shooting themselves in the foot with developers. Saying PhysX won't work in ATI systems gives a developer or publisher a great reason not to implement PhysX at all. Why spend the money on implementing it if half the computers out there are blocked from using it? |

| I really doubt it. I don't know how well the iPhone's navigation works but my Nokia 5800's GPS leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes I have trouble getting a firm signal even in a field on a cloudless day, and even with a good signal I can usually only count on "precision" to 10 meters or so. My older Garmin eTrex handheld, on the other hand, has given me an accurate (5 meters or less) signal even inside a parking garage once or twice. |

Can't find it at the moment, but I think my favorite Voyager deckplan is the one where every deck is crammed full of shuttles...
edit: Just thought of it - I can't find this one either but I think my favorite is tied between the above plan and the deckplan where every deck is crammed full of warp cores.

| That's kinda what I was hoping to get with Survival. Hole up someplace in just enough time to throw a wave back, run around looking for stuff between waves, etc. Being able to build barricades and things would be great for that kind of play, even if it's just throwing physics props in a pile. |

| Agreed. I'm lucky enough to have a handful of "broadband" options here, but... they're all shit. The 768k I'm on now only barely qualifies as broadband according to the FCC. In one way I feel lucky that it "only" costs $30 a month. In the other way, it's horseshit that there would be need for huge infrastructure upgrades they can't afford or other bullshit if the broadband minimum is raised. They've been fleecing everyone for fucking years already! When the Time Warner ad comes on TV to advertise their speed boost or whatever they call it, "Oh, double your speed! Call now and gimme the cash!" that just tells me they've been fucking their customers over and they have finally come right out and said it. No new hardware required? If all they have to do is flip a switch, why don't their customers already have it? With cable in every other house in the United States, you just can't tell me they're unable to handle the load. |

| Even if such an addon were real, it would never fly. You can kill a hundred cats for laughs in comedic games and movies but draw blood on one dog and you're done for good. Animal rights groups will swallow you whole and people will walk away like it'd give them crotch rot. |
