If you're on the company dime, you're on the company time. So why shouldn't they be able to monitor and evaluate the productivity of remote workers?

You've obviously never had the boss looking in on you when he's not supposed to.

Uhh what now? With that setup and settings almost all on high and its "running great"? Are you like one of those guys all over reddit who consider 25 fps to be "running great"? Because I sure as hell am certain that with that setup and those settings, your definition of "running great" must be that.

My bar is probably lower, sure. I'm not sure what my exact FPS is but I'd guess in the low-mid 30s, which I'm happy with and which I'm getting steadily regardless of what's going on. I get motion sickness now at 60+ FPS so if having mid 30s means I can play for 12 straight hours without throwing up that suits me just fine and saves me a ton of dramamine to boot. It seems to also mean I can play 60+ hours without anything going significantly wrong. It's not bleeding edge great, sure, but it's a hell of a lot better than I expected once they released the newer specs sheet.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones too. I have 60 hours played and I've had zero game breaking issues. I've had a few times where parts of the UI won't appear or won't disappear but a quick save/load has always fixed it so far. I've also seen a few cellphones floating in the air like the game didn't remove them when their owners moved away, but that's it. I'm only running an i7-4790k and a GTX 1060 with almost all settings on high too and somehow it's running great. I definitely feel bad for those having serious issues - I've been chomping at the bit for this since the very first teaser and if I had issues like that after that kind of wait I'd lose my mind.

They're not always quick or merciful. My grandmother had a brain aneurysm, then spent 5 or 6 years trapped mentally in the 1950s before she died. She thought my dad and uncle were her brothers (who were long dead), and she had no idea who I was or who any of her other grandkids were. She'd spend most of every day folding linens because in her mind she was working in a factory she hadn't actually been in for decades. It was kind of like alzheimers but laser focused and permanently on.

It's not exactly by choice. It's a miracle if I can find clothes with pockets at all, let alone pockets big enough to even fit my whole hand in.

And that's why you'll never see Republicans pushing for better education. An educated populace might remember the things you did and the lies you told. Can't have that when election day rolls around. Or god forbid, voters might start thinking critically and then all hope is lost. Blessed is the mind too small for doubt.

It's funny how all these Trump supporters want everyone to suck it up, live with it, etc when they were denouncing Obama as a Muslim terrorist, or the root of all American problems, or just going for the "typical" blatantly racist stuff, nonstop, for 8 years.

I don't know if it's quite dead but the waves of DLC are not helping it. It's almost the Train Simulator of first person shooters. The last major change they made to skills was definitely a step in the right direction though, in my opinion.

If such a person does manage to work up the nerve to seek help (and that can be extremely difficult for someone who is depressed), they will probably try just that one time and give up. If their phone can direct them to help when they ask, what is the harm in that? They may even be more likely to ask their phone because their phone won't shame them or tell them to suck it up. It's easy for someone who is not clinically depressed to say "call 911" or "call a friend or relative," but if it was that easy for the depressed person they would have done that. It's not a rational impasse that logic can defeat.

The fact remains that they reduced the effectiveness of weapons in the game pretty much across the board, and the only way to bring them back up to par is to gamble real money on a random chance at getting these stat-increasing weapon skins. They finally got too greedy and I'm glad it's biting them in the ass.

Most cops are not cruising around looking for someone to shoot. They get a fraction of a second to decide whether or not the thing that dumb college kid whipped out of his pocket in a hurry is a phone or a gun. That decision is not always going to be accurate but if it really is a gun there's no time for double checking. Now the phone case looks like a gun and that's obviously going to affect that extremely quick decision making process. We just had an officer killed here recently because sometimes that thing you can't identify with 100% certainty in a split second is in fact a gun.

I hope she does win her lawsuit. My company is trying to do the same thing with our vehicles and phones. I've always maintained that using company resources for personal use is bad even if and especially if the company says it's ok. I was already in a position where I don't need the vehicle or phone while I'm off the clock, but a lot of my coworkers can't afford an alternative.

The whole thing is a legal powderkeg. If the SKSE guys did the same thing as FNIS this whole paid mod idea would pretty much grind to a halt.

edit: Whoops, now you can't access the discussions page of a paid mod unless you own it. Nothing shady going on here.

This situation also begs the question: how much support will be given to these paid mods? Will future changes and updates to the mod be included, or will the modder release a new version with a new price tag? Considering how much money the modders will actually take home in this setup, I'm inclined to believe in the latter.

So how much of a cut do SKSE and FNIS and other similar utilities get? I would wager most if not all of the mods that have price tags now rely on one or more such utility to even function in Skyrim. I can't think of a single mod that doesn't need SKSE if it makes more than basic changes to the game.

It's kind of a clever move by Bethesda to allow this. Their games have always relied on the work of others to make them complete and functional, but now they have found a way to make money off of it as well.
