Just decrypted & installed the final parts of Skyrim. Started the game. A Bethesda's logo appears, then a Skyrim logo appears, then the game crashes to desktop.... looks like another rough start. I just pray to God it doesn't crash every couple minutes like Fallout did.

I have a friend that works at GameStop his console version of BF3 stopped working day two. I 've been wondering if he was mistakenly banned? Have you tried contacting Dice and/or EA?

We're going to sort it out and have things back to normal really soon.

Try going back or Home"

I bought BF3 on Origin (before it was called Origin) for $39.95 with a special coupon code they sent me. I know I'll get my money's worth if or when it's finally release. No worries there. I know it will have issues all of the BF games have had bugs. I know I'll both love it and hate it to some degree. Been there done that with the previous games.

What I'm trying to figure out but I haven't had time to research it much yet... I received an e-mail today telling me it is released as of today on Origin. But when I try to boot the game the release date checker still says tomorrow is the release date. Has anyone else got this e-mail and if so were you able to boot the game and play it?

17. By Far The Best id Game To Date Oct 4, 2011, 16:45 Paranoid Jack

I've added (+cvaradd g_fov 20) to the SET LAUNCH OPTIONS after right clicking Rage on MY GAMES list then clicking Properties. Game runs amazing and looks fantastic.

Anyway, not much to complain about love the game so far... enjoying head shooting mutant scum and bandits. But was wondering if anyone has played around with the FOV. Since I'm not having much of any slow down and no pop in at all I want to change my FOV to the max I can use without causing graphic slow downs. So if anyone has experimented please let us know. Thanks...

54. Pop In And/Or Slow Texture Drawing: Oct 4, 2011, 05:37 Paranoid Jack

I'm starting to wonder if this is another ATI/AMD issue? I've got an Nvidia card (MSI N580GTX Twin Frozr II) and see no lag on textures being rendered nor do I see any pop in what so ever. The game looks amazing at 1900x1080 16x AA. Plays smooth as silk almost too fast for this small a FOV. I've not played it much because I want to crash and play it first thing in the morning (not to mention I've already been checked out Dark Souls on the PS3 while Rage took an hour or more to install on the PC).

PC version has what seems an FoV of 60 cause it's making me fucking nauseous.
No FoV option.
Mouse acceleration up the asshole.
NO Vsync option.
NO Aim Toggle option.
0 Graphics options.

My first impression was good. Though the mouse acceleration is a bit too fast for my taste. And I'm praying you're wrong and that there is a FOV adjustment. WTF! Why is any game coming out in this day and age without proper widescreen options? Not that BS clipping of the top and bottom of the screen either.

I really enjoy LotRO. Nearly everything about it is well done and great fun to play. Unfortunately the combat is about the worst I've seen in any MMOG and because this MMOG, like most others, is essentially about the combat, I've never been able to spend more than 2-3 months playing at a time before I just got totally bored because of the combat. Even once you hit 50 almost all the new content is combat based.

LMAO, I almost spit my beer all over my 42" Panasonic monitor... you are able to play two or three months before boring combat finally gets to you? I didn't even make it two weeks in the Star Wars beta the combat was so damned boring.

So has anyone got their early access invite e-mail(s)? After all we only have two days before it goes live. I have two games that allow me to gain early access yet haven't received any notification other than what Blue has posted here.

7. hmm smoke & mirrors..... d'Oh! Sep 24, 2011, 12:32 Paranoid Jack

This whole thing reeks of smoke and mirrors. I'm extrememly tired of this kind of marketing. Some might say what other type of marketing is there? I'd say the honest, open, upfront type... where they tell you all this shit before they hold out their hand for your hard earned money. They don't have to tell you the specific dates but at least tell you it's only two days of early access... only two freaking days of early access? Not even a damn week or five days? WTF?

I also bought the limit edition of BFBC2 and they never were clear what or when the access would be except that it was beta access. Seems it will be two days also. Since we are only three days away from the early access date of those pre-orders.

edit: Let us at least hope they allow pre-loads other wise the entire thing is utter bullshit for those with slower download speeds. I'm not one but I'd prefer to pre-load so that I can play the day of without having to wait hours or days because their servers are hammered.

so it is ok for compagnies (sic) to sniff up your ass , and monitoring all you do , but not beeing (sic) able to name more than one of your player is just wrong...hmm mkay

Exactly, if EA can monitor their games they can allow us to have multiple characters per account. Simple idea, right?

You must work someplace they don't have power? Otherwise you're being monitored too. Don't worry when you get a job other than the local gas station you'll soon realize the company you work for is monitoring you at all time.

The lovely company I work for has GPS on our vehicles, monitoring of every thing on our laptops, and we all carry a company provided cell phone. So wake up and smell what you been sniffing....

You'd think a company of this size would have been able to hire somebody to make this shit work properly when they rolled it out to the public.

I couldn't use my original name (which I've been using for twenty f'in years) because all their shit sites aren't linked properly. I'm talking about EA sites, Bioware sites, and now their EA Downloader/Origin shit.

They recently sent me an e-mail for a FREE game when I pre-ordered BF3 and the damn e-mail link takes you to their (website not Origin itself) and the promo code doesn't work there. The site will try to bill you for the game. So if you got one be sure to use it in the Origin client not the Orgin website.

I'm able to over look the always connected feature while playing the game since I'm always on anyway. And that seems to be the trend with everything else... not to mention all our electronics at work are constantly monitored. But not being able to name more than one of your players (if this is correct) well that is just bull shit and it's getting old quick.

Eidt: I'm hoping we're all just jumping to conclusions.

News Comments > Battlefield 3 Origin Preorders Include Beta Access
10. Re: Battlefield 3 Origin Preorders Include Beta Access Aug 2, 2011, 22:05 Paranoid Jack

So does this "beta" come before or after the MOH "beta" access?

EA and Dice are sure being really unclear about this whole mess of preorder perks/access.

Exactly! Since they first started pimping this game with the MoH release with BF3 Beta Access... I'm thinking this game will have an entire year plus of pre-order/beta access media hype. And possibly a new record being set on the hype meter.

Still... they have me thinking about pre-ordering from thier Origin store now.

Same four races for both sides unless they change something between now and the beginning of the year. GameStop has a February release on their books, not shown publicly of course. And though I wouldn't call it "WoW In Space" it does borrow from the standard MMO norms. It's very cutscene/voice acted heavy compared to most current or older MMOs.

edit: I think the videos are a bit misleading as far as the one hit kills go. Of course if you go into a zone with lower level Mobs & NPCs you will kill them with one hit or two. Though in a lot of games a critical hit can sometimes equate to what is a one or two hit kill on like level Mobs/NPCs. I wouldn't get too hung up on that. You have to remember like most MMOs some creatures/enemies will be prone to certain types of damage and if you spec your toon right you will be able to go thru them much faster. I'm not saying this is the case here because I haven't seen enough... I'm just sayin'...
