I've been very busy on the PS3 playing Demon's Souls... addictive as Hell. Anyway the game I was playing when I borrowed Demon's Souls from a friend.... AC2. I was enjoying AC2 on the PS3 also. Though I can't say I'd buy any DLC for it unless it added more options to the game-play. Not that there aren't quite a few as it is. Just wishing for more... I guess.
What happened to the Christmas release of DLC for DA:O? Not that I'd buy it if it's anything like Warden's Keep. What a rip-off that was. |

Somebody has to pay for all those that are unemployed... since a low percentage of those are actually willing to be employed. The "aid" system in this state is a joke. We continue to rewarding losers for dropping out, for getting knocked up at sixteen, and for having more children just so that they can have more "aid". People no-longer come here to find work... they come here to work the system.
A couple years back there was a large exodus of Asians to a north eastern state because their "aid" system was even easier to work than the one the state of California has in place. You know how I heard about it? An Asian guy I work with told me about it. LoL!
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying all those living off the system are leeches but a majority are.
Anyway, I believe at least part of his claim... but on the other hand they did make a lot of mediocre games.

Most definitely the best online shooters were the early games from BF series, the R6 games, and the first Ghost Recon. And one of the worst for hacks was BF2. Once the hacks were created and distributed freely it was the end of BF2. I remember watching a video that showed all of a dozen or so hacks in one package toggled by the function keys. Most were developer tools left in the game. And since DICE refused to become aggressive and simply moved onto creating BF 2142... I refused to buy 2142.
After watching a couple videos from MW2 I'm also glad I didn't buy it for the PC. It's too bad there has never been anything better than VAC. Even when I played leagues and/or competitive R6... PB was a huge joke. Funniest shit evar was when one of the PB team was caught hacking during a league game of R6 RvS... she claimed her son must have used her PC and installed the hack. Yeah, right!
So much for the glory days of online shooters... when one shot could kill... and your character couldn't run around like a crack monkey bunny hopping from place to place wall hacking the entire time.

I'm about half way into DA:O and it's good no doubt, even great at times. No regrets from me.
Has anyone played BF2 via Steam? Are the hackers as out of control as on the private servers? I'd love to play it again... |

I bought the original and the first Modern Warfare but I had to laugh when G4 was actually say the pop up heads feeling the games have always had is finally gone. That's what they have been saying the last three releases.
Can anyone who has played the single-player game confirm this is true? If you're not quite sure what I'm saying... you move to cover behind box A... shoot all the heads in the windows... plus over the roof edges... and you have exactly two seconds to move to cover behind box B before those heads pop back into place. CoD, whack-a-mole for the 21st Century?

Yeah, I caught that and was correcting it when you post. Thanks. What are the latest video card offerings anyway. Anyone here keeping up to date? Wondering what are the top dogs from both camps. I'll go check that list that has all of them graphed out for the past few years... think it's on Tom's. Bad news is it may get me thinking I need an upgrade.
edit: From the look of it GPUs like CPUs are not making huge strides over the past couple years. Going to stick with what I have for a while longer.

I was again just blown away by the fact that I too have a GTX 260... for about a year and a half now... plus a PC build that is going on three years old... the best part... I feel no need to upgrade.
Playing DA:O on max settings 1900x1200 with nothing to complain about.
Edit: Damn, it sucks getting old and not checking my dates before I post. I guess it's not as old as I thought. Subtracted a year from that 260. Still not doing badly. The PC is really that old. And it was just a middle of the road build no where near cutting edge.

| I never bought the first one or even gave it much thought... and yes, it was the stupid name. But this one I will most likely pick up sooner or later. I'm milking DA:O and still have yet to crack the shrink wrap on both Uncharted 2 and AC2. Going to be a busy gaming holiday season. |

Has anyone tried Fort Zombie? I'm too busy with a few other titles right now, plus a few Indie games I have intentions in buying. Fort Zombie is down there near the bottom of the list. I'll get to it eventually. |

Besides the issue with D2D pre-load not unlocking and starting the download over again it's been the longest install process evar! Once downloaded it took 1:15 minutes for me to install and get all DLC into the game. I jumped thru hoops and sacrificed a couple chickens before it was all said and done.
So far the game has been mucho fun. As a Danish Elf Mage. Only problems I've seen are textures changing or alternating colors while in a cut-scene. Other than that it's been good if not a bit too easy on normal. I hear it gets pretty hard though. |

Loving this new DSL connection 7.85 GB in about an hour. Not to shabby...
I held off on Demon Souls and Torchlight until I get over Dragon Age and finished with Risen. Hell, I haven't even broken the shrink wrap on Uncharted 2 yet. |

Well I've learned another time that if you're in a hurry for the game go pick it up.
I bought D2D's version with the $5 guide since I know my friend will be asking me a ton of questions. I hate using guides but what the hell for an extra $5 I got it. So I downloaded the game yesterday and was waiting for the unlock. It didn't happen at ten so I went to my account and it had another page I'd never seen. It had all my codes and other stuff. I hit the download button hoping it (their download manager) would see I already had it... but no... it's downloading the entire game again. At least I think it is. It's screaming at 1.4Mbps but still. LoL |

Most of us are going PC some 360 but strange enough my friend in Jersey just bought the PS3 version which wasn't supposed to be out until Nov 17th. They really screwed the pooch on this one. When I went in LameStop the manager didn't know shit about this game. He told me there is no street date yet. |

No matter what somebody... anyone says while discussing games in a games forum even and no doubt... somebody will call it whining. So what do we call it when people are whining about others posting comments about games that aren't really whining but somehow several posters will always make the stretch to consider any comment whining?
Isn't that whining about whining that isn't whining? Strange little cycle some people seem to get caught up in. Maybe Sargos gave his whole get outside enjoy life advise to the wrong person? If you people don't like discussions concerning games why are you visiting these forums to begin with? |

"You would ignore the huge advantages Steam has over EA and D2D just because they might release it a few minutes late?"
I don't think you have read or paid attention to all the info. Steam's release will be two hours later (noon) at the earliest. And we all know their noon release is nothing concrete. Big... huge difference when you're trying to say "minutes". Besides I'm fed up with their total lack of info when it comes to highly anticipated releases. I know they're the big man on campus but that doesn't mean proper customer service or even responding to these questions on their forums is not necessary.
"I think you need to put the keyboard down now and step outside. The place beyond the doorway. Your future depends on it."
So now you know me? From one little post? Are you The Amazing Kreskin? LoL, Come on down we'll go for a stroll along the bike path. I'll see if you can keep up with me while we jog eight or ten miles.

Direct2Drive now has a special for both versions of DOA. For $5 more you get the Prima Guide with it. Not bad if you use guides... still looking as far as their "unlock time".
Edit: D'oH! It's rigth there in little blue letters. 10am PDT so unless Valve gets their heads out I will be buying D2D. I love Steam but hate the way they screw you around some releases. Especially if you have the day off and want to play the game as soon as possible.
