News Comments > Dark Souls II Crown of the Sunken King DLC Released
6. Re: Dark Souls II Crown of the Sunken King DLC Released Jul 22, 2014, 22:56 Paranoid Jack

Thank you all for the help. I am definitely going to play some DarkSouls on the PC as soon as I get a bit of time. I remembered on Saturday that I had Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen on my PS3 from my Plus account... not sure when it was on there. Think it is gone now, they seem to have taken it down. Anyway, I got hooked on it and I'm have blast play it at the moment.

Seeing the news of this release has got my DarlSouls monkey jumping all over my back.

Looking forward to this. I have some where between two hundred and two hundred fifty hours logged on my PS3 playing mostly the PVE stuff. I'm guessing about a quarter of that time was spent invading or defending covenants. I never invade otherwise but may give it a try soon.

Bought the Steam version of DS2 but the graphics look like shit. Is there a Steam Workshop mod to address that. I know some modder created some fabulous thing but when ever I do a search it takes me to questionable sites with ten download links. The one time I did download it it wasn't labeled the same and was a very small application. So I deleted it.

Any help locating a graphics mod for DarkSouls2 PC version would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

But haven't we been digitally raped by EA/Bioware before?

Yeah, you could say that. For me the start of it was with EA Downloader being changed to Origin. Then an Origin tech support guy deleted my Battlefield 3 account wiping my level/rank 40ish game. After that I filed numerous tickets and it took them over two months to try to make good on his mistake. They gave me a few free Origin games by the way. Those are just the things I remember. I'm sure there are more reasons not to buy it. Like the mess DA2 was, the poor original release state of BF4... well, it hasn't been good for years. I've been pissed at them a lot and I doubt I will buy the game at release.

That being said I need to stop watching these trailers... the more I see the more I want the game.

preeeeeetty game. i don't care how much haterade you guys pour on this, i'm going to play the hell out of it. i loved DAO and DA2 was still a good, enjoyable experience. a lot of you are too exacting in your expectations - it wasn't the bleeding edge masterpiece we'd hoped for, but failing to live up to that, anything can still be a good game. people just need to keep in the mind the full spectrum of possibilities it could've been, not just that 'it's not a masterpiece; therefore, sucks'.

I don't buy that; you wouldn't use that logic with any other purchases. This blender kinda blends well... it's got the potential, even if there are still massive chunks in my smoothie! This chicken was undercooked but it has the potential to be a really good meal! Shit just doesnt fly. Its idiotic.

EA restricted development to cash in on the good will\name that DA:O generated - that's it plain and simple. They just wanted higher profits for less development time and it was quite evident in the final product.

I think the logic applies but you took it the way of apples and oranges. I think of it like this... and you've heard this saying yourself I'm sure which I tend to agree with, "There is no such thing as bad sex or bad pizza". It works as long as you don't take it to extremes.

As derivative as this game looks to be I am still interested, it looks like they really embraced the setting.

I'm interested too... but going up against DA:I on release day is crazy. This one is surely the underdog. Plan on playing both just not sure if either will be on release day at this point.

I wrote this huge rant about Comcast. It was good, detailed, and accurate. I felt better after writing it seeing as I just had yet another huge dust up with them last week.

Ultimately, it didn't say anything you all don't already know so I deleted it from this post and smoked a joint.

Happy Monday all!

I smoke two joint before I smoke two joints and then I smoke two more..

Who the Hell is worried about putting small Internet Providers out of business now? Shouldn't they have worried about that ten or more years ago? As far as I know they all went out with a whimper years ago. The only small providers around here serve markets the big two wouldn't bother with. In fact the prices have gone up not down here. So small providers will have to provide more for less expense or the same speeds at lower costs. And as soon as the big two see a loss of subscribers they'll start aggressive promos again. Locking subs in at low rates for one, two, or three years driving the smalls guys underground again. Ah, capitalism.... ain't it grand?

Sweet, it is about time something is done. Cheaters have ruined far too many good multiplayer games with online hacks.

As if people don't already have a blurred sense of responsibility for thier actions, someone is now making a game with the express point of teaching that there should be no consequences for acts of violence.

Why don't we just start making games where the object is to rape women, or abduct and molest children? No consequences, right? No good or evil, right? No difference whatsoever... right?

Right.

And people think climate change is a problem?

I've always thought that Europeans weren't as hung up on nudity as we are here in the west (NA)?

When I was a kid living in Germany it seemed every place we went to swim there were topless females roaming free. And as an older male I clearly remember Crete and other countries I visited being just as open to it. Even having nude beaches.

If I had seen her hanging out the window like that I would have shaken my head and laughed. Seems a bit foolish is all. Maybe that was part of the problem?

I love Mac, of Worth a Buy, he never fail to make me laugh. Though his reviews are not always spot on with my view of the game they are never straight up shite like some of the journalists in the industry.

I'm happy for them. The more people that get to play this game the better. This game needs to be on every platform. It's just that good.

I pray they are working on another add-on or better yet the sequel. If so I am down with going early access for a game of this caliber by developers of this caliber.

This thread seems full of trolls if you want my opinion. If I dare actually comment on the subject of the post, I must say that DayZ sucks ass. Not just DayZ but every other zombie game. After the fist 80 zombie games I think we are ready for something new. How about a modern AAA WWII game? Sorry again to actually comment on the subject matter.

Are you saying some of the comments here didn't even make you chuckle? One or two were so ironic you had to laugh, no? You may want to check your funny bone it may be fractured.

As far as the requiring a gamepad on PC argument goes... it is a no brainer for me. If the game plays best on a gamepad... use one. I loved playing Quake using my Space Orb 360 back in '96. I could rocket jump and turn mid air no problem. Ah, those were the days. Only thing that sucked about it was that the thing was so brittle. Not sure if they ever revised it. I stopped after buying three. The plastic mounting inside the orb was shite. Still it was one of the best controllers ever made.

Just wondering if anyone else is having major issues with the camera doing a lot of seesawing? It is making me nauseous. The game is also having a major issue staying locked on when you have multiple enemies close together. Its bouncing from one to the next to the next non-stop

I'm thinking its this x360ce program that is allowing me to use my PS4 controller. Any constructive response will be highly appreciated.

Update: I decided to try GeDoSaTo (DS2Edition Alpha2) to see what it would do as far as improving the graphics. Somehow it fixed the seesawing and the lock on issues. My lock on works fine now which is a huge help. Not liking the blur effect on Whitelist mode so I'm going to try the Blacklist now. Need to research that mod to see what else can be done to tweak it and where.

Yeah, it may rival Duke Nukem Forever by the time they finish or give up on it and move onto DayZ 2 code named NightZ.

Also I've never once fallen through the world/terrain.

So if it's never happened to you, it therefore never happens to anyone else?

Okay.

I didn't say that. I simply reverse his/your way of thinking.

If you've fallen through the world does that mean it happens to everyone?

No!

Okay... then.

there are better MMO's available right now for free (and no I am not talking about all the crappy grinder clones).

so what are you talking about

Yeah, I would like to know of just the best two of these amazing free to play non-grind MMOs. And if having to click "C" or "." to get access to your cursor before right clicking a spammer's name and then click ignore is too much to deal with you really shouldn't be playing MMOs because they require far too much time/commitment. Also I've never once fallen through the world/terrain. And I have gotten into some areas between maps where players were not intended to go. Funny because my favorite memory of WoW was getting between two zones. A friend and I found a hole and we were able to cross between but it took so long to get out at the other side that we never went back that way again.

I'm not saying it's a perfect game. And I'm not saying at times it doesn't appear as if it's ametuer hour over there. I'm just saying some of you are complaining just to be complaining. Which is cool if that is your thing. I've tried ten or twelve MMOs that I never even considered buying retail. To each their own...

That said, I'm enjoying the game for what it is. I know it will have a limited appeal for me. Since beta testing and then playing WoW retail for several months I've become extremely jaded toward playing MMOs. At times I purposely avoid them. But then I remember all games can be looked at as a waste of time if you so choose. Same goes for every other form of entertainment. If you spend too much time doing anything it can wear thin.

LMAO, don't forget market manipulation.

I'm enjoying the game for what it is. I like the fact that the lack of AH forces people to spend time selling items the old school way. Now if they would just start banning the Gold Farmers/Botters. Their constant chat/e-mail spamming and spawn camping is getting old. I reported dozens of them before giving up. Now I just close the chat window and use a group tab to filter it out. Still banning them would add to their sales figures...
