What a jerk that guy who calls up Gabe Newell is. He's not polite or anything. He's acting like he's a personal friend of Gabe and that he's somehow earned to act that way towards someone he doesn't even know.

Valve: "Hi, this is Valve. We're gonna unlock HL2 now since the release date has been broken. Just thought you should know. Call me, love ya."
VU: "Hey, Valve. Got your voice mail. This is just to let you know that the release date has not been broken. The game has not been released. Thank you."
Valve: "Hi. This is Valve. We can confirm that the release date has been broken and that the game is selling and that people have bought it. We're gonna unlock it so that they can play."
VU: "Hey, jerks. We told you not to unlock the game. If you do we will sue you and then we will throw crap at your car and then we will plant bombs in your toilets. Watch out, because the next time you have to take a crap, more than one thing will blow!"
Valve: "Hi, this is Valve again. We've encrypted HL2 some more and we won't be letting anyone play it. We've personally gone home to the people that already have bought it and threatened them just like you threatened us. Hope you will forgive us and that we can date in the future."

I really love ATI's monthly release schedule, but I will be staying with the 8.07 (4.11) betas. They are working excellently. I'll update to the 4.12s when they come instead.

The demo sucks.
1) You have only have about 8-10 minutes (SP, that is) to play after that the demo ends and you have to restart. 2) The enemy AI is incredibly annoying given that it tends to want to take some awfully long jumping trips back to the fort where all the other worms are. 3) No graphic settings. Playing in 640x480 makes me cry like a little girl.

I just thought of something.. Wouldn't it be awesome if someone were to make a new UFO game using the Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2 engine (I believe it is called Eclipse). That way one could create a game like UFO: Enemy Unknown and the underwater one fully in 3d with physics and all that stuff. That would be awesome.

I'd much rather have them spend time polishing the single player portion than throwing together a half-assed multiplayer portion just because there is a notion that multiplayer is somehow required in all games.

Everyone happy with "just" a "spiritual successor"?
It's kinda like what Bioware is doing with their new PC project it being the "spiritual successor" of Baldur's Gate 2.
