Seems to be random what kind of surprise you get with these drivers: I got Duke Nukem Forever AND the PC version of GTA IV. These are some really awesome drivers.

Depends on what you mean by official. If you mean DirectSound HW, then yes, you are right.
However, OpenAL works in Vista and will give you EAX and other audio effects in games that utilize OpenAL and it is hardware accelerated if your hardware supports it.

Looks like the pages got pulled. There's only a banner on the frontpage with an email link for inquiries.
Guess the webmaster jumped the gun.

Well, they are wrong. I have DT installed and if I have the real DVD in the real optical drive, it works flawlessly. I am not running YASU or anything.

You don't have to close Daemon Tools, you just have to have the real DVD in your real optical drive.
Even YASU doesn't work for hiding DT from Crysis anyway (not with the latest DT Lite that is)

Crysis and Daemon Tools |

If you have the DVD in your non-virtual optical drive, Crysis does not complain about Daemon Tools (or any other virtual drive) being installed. If you don't have the DVD loaded, it says you have to insert it and it still does not complain about Daemon Tools being installed.
If you, however, try to run the game with, say, a mini-image loaded in Daemon Tools so you don't have to have your DVD at the ready when you want to play, it does complain. This comment was edited on Mar 6, 18:48. |

It was intense, but the limited scope of the HUGE demo is very disappointing. It is a game I could see myself picking up and playing for short sessions, but it is too much of the same.
Blowing up the belfry was cool, though.

It's news to me. I didn't know there was a FlatOut: Head On.
I guess you go by EB's old release dates for DNF too, so you can say when DNF is eventually released that "This is not news, EB have advertised it for 10 years."

Fix some of the issues (ultimately shallow gameplay, some weird control, video and audio issues) and this game will be awesome. Great, visceral action gameplay.
