XP32 here. Smooth as silk, and I have the details maxed through the commandline options. i7 920@4ghz, Diamond 4870x2 XOC, 3gb OCZ.

Try running the benchmark ingame 15 or so times in a row (don't quit the game between runs) and see if you get excessive object popping and reloading of objects/textures when you turn the camera around. Do it outside.

For me, if I go to Central Park and stand in the shadow of a tree, then rotate the camera so that the tree is behind me, the shadow just disappears. I also lose about 10 FPS from the first benchmark run to the 15th or so run.

I have a i7 920@3.2, GTX285, 6 GB OCZ (3 GB in XP32, of course). In Vista64 it doesn't happen.

Hopefully this will make the game playable in XP32 by limiting the resources used below 2 GB. Game is large address aware, but since the /3GB switch makes many drivers go berserk, it doesn't matter. Only in 64 bit Windows does it matter.

Seems like 3DR is no more

3DR forums are very sluggish at the moment

wieder confirms it in the thread. He is Charlie Wiederhold, he worked for 3DR for many years and worked on the game.

Having to do context switches between UI mode and game mode is a big no-no. Remember the mouse-look key in old school games? There's a reason it went away and it's not just going from 2D/2.5D to 3D.

SWG made the same mistake with it's UI interaction.

Also, I am pretty sure this game is shit. Yeah, that's right, I'm not even giving it a chance.

Annoying download procedure. It took me 5 tries to get the download starting and in that time, the page helpfully gave me 5 unique keys.

It's not Blizzards fault for the same reason a gun store owner isn't at fault for selling a gun that is used to kill someone.

Nope, it's more like a gun store owner selling a gun to someone not allowed to own a gun.

He had probably applied for an item restoration, and the GM made a typo in the item ID.

If that is so, the God items should have flags that the item restoration system checks. It should have asked the GM if he really wants to send this über one-shot God item to a regular player.

The important thing here is not why they used it or why they didn't report it but:

  • how did the item end up being set to a regular player?

  • who sent it?

  • why was it sent?
