Again, I'm not questioning the type of gameplay BF offers. I just happen to think their engine is shit for the actual shooter aspect of the game. So they can provide the coolest combination of gameplay in the world, but if it's implemented within a crappy engine, it sorta nullifies the cool gameplay.

Aside from that, who cares? Play both or only one type based on your preference. If BC2 didn't have mediocre shooter elements, I'd happily go to that to get my open warfare fix. Both gameplay types offer unique experiences that can be enjoyed by all.
I think the engine is a massive improvement over the one used in BF2.

Too little, too late. I ditched Bad Company the day Medal of Honor came out, and ditched MoH the day Black Ops came out.

I doubt I will ever go back to either of them... no matter the patch or content size that is added.
Ah, you went to two lesser games? None of those offer what BC2 offers; infantry and vehicles in dynamic environments.

They changed their patching procedure, but they made new mistakes in the cooking procedure. It is a software engineering problem and they have to fix it for BF3 to retain any credibility in the SE department.

The fact that you have to drift around corners to get a decent time is not how most tarmac racing is done. Rally cars drift and slide on gravel, but on tarmac you want as little drift as possible.

Criterion took the driving mechanic from Burnout and just threw it in their NFS game. It is totally misplaced. I am very disappointed and I have uninstalled the game.

This game is not fun. I do not like that you have to drift around all corners. The drifting mechanic is crap IMHO.

I like it, it has some pretty unique features (housing, heritage quests) and everybody loves shinies! Also it is very mature and has loads of content, though I would stay to the new Golden Path content because some of the older stuff (the stuff from before any of the expansions) can be a bit tedious.

The subscriber matrix is just crap. Too many restrictions. I hope they change it. They should encourage people to go Silver, but as of now it is no real benefit for doing that (3 char slots and shared bank? so what? I'm a one char kind of guy).

1) don't make a game where you shoot people left and right, blow up their stuff and set fire to everything and then start moralising you at the end and trying to be all documentary and shit
2) don't have those idiotic checkpoints and respawns
3) don't make a sandbox game and then tell us we have choices and they impact stuff when the choices you make mean nothing because the two measly factions you choose between are identical and basically nothing matters
4) don't deus ex machina us with some bullshit disease
5) do make the world more alive, you see civilians in the half-life style intro, but then they are replaced by an entire country out to kill just you. for instance, when you drive along a road and then suddenly hear a revving engine, you can bet your gullible ass (because you bought this shit game) that some crazy npc is going to ram your car head first
6) do use that engine again because it was the only good thing about the whole damn game

oh I hate FC2.
