Besides the performance, and sometimes flickering decals on the walls, I haven't had any problems with the game at all. I've played through it twice now, and it's a lot of fun. The polish issue is definitely true, but I expected that from a Troika game.

I'm on my second playthrough of Bloodlines, main complaints besides the extremely scarce use of physics, are that it seems kinda small compared to Fallout, Arcanum, etc. It's a really fun game, but imagine them using the same engine and making it in a GTA sized city instead of just 4 small neighborhoods.

I've known for almost a month Vampire would come out the same day as HL2. All the game vendor websites have listed it as such. I mean, Vampire should've come out this Spring, but they had a contract that they wouldn't release it before HL2 was released. Then again, that might be a good thing, considering that the members of Troika, besides being known for fucking awesome RPGs, also have a strong legacy of 23409850912238 bugs at release, 1/4 of which never get fixed. So anyway, fuck HL2. Great RPG > Great FPS any day of the millenium. Gimme Vampire nowwww.

As for smaller videos, Gametrailers.com has the 5 walkthrough videos from the zip file in smaller sizes (and I guess lower quality?) as well as 3 previous trailers.

Um, wasn't there already a Starship Troopers game? Based both upon the movie and the book it satired. Who in their right minds makes a game based upon a direct to video movie that's just goddamn awful?

Realistic realistic people use that word way too much. It's not about realism, it's about LOGIC. It's not logical that you wouldn't be able to tape the flashlight to your head or arm for that matter.

Hitman wasn't that linear. There was no place in SC where you could choose between two paths (backdoor or frontdoor, that kind of thing). You always had to do Exactly as the developers planned, which was kind of annoying.
I know what you mean, it was the biggest letdown of the first game. Only the CIA HQ infiltration mission had any non-linearity. But, the devs have promised "multiple entry points" for Pandora Tomorrow. How much improvement that translates into is sketchy, but it will be better for sure.

All MGS is cinematic dramatism and bad acting thrown in. Sure MGS1 was cool when it came out for the PS1, but geez it's not like there weren't stealth games on the PC before it. A nice franchise sure, but doesn't deserve nearly the amount of hype the console fanbois heap on it.

About damn time++
With Far Cry coming on DVD only, UT2004 with a DVD edition right at release, plus this, it's a good sign PC gamemakers are finally forcing lazy people to get a damn $30 DVD drive if they don't have one yet. And if you don't, WTF is wrong with you? Your PC 5 years old or something? You can upgrade to a Radeon 9800 XT but can't upgrade something 1/10 the price?

The RTS =you're= talking about is mostly micromanaging. Turned based takes the time crunch out so you can actually plan. Otherwise, the only real strategy games would be the Combat Mission games - give orders and strategy, then it plays out, then you can give orders again, not 20 orders every minutes as you watch things play out.
