News Comments > Diablo III Date? New Blizzard Game Revealed?
2. Re: Diablo III Date? New Blizzard Game Revealed? Dec 1, 2010, 11:43 Zyrxil

WoW is only up to its 3rd expansion in 6 years. Everquest has had 17 expansions over a period of 10 years. You can call it milking when WoW gets up to double digits.

Diablo III followed by expansions in Q2 2013 and Q4 2014
Wtf? Expansions two and three years after release?

You sucked. I mean, you really sucked. The main game wasn't even that difficult; as I said, there's a lot of leeway given when you're not competing against anyone. Granted I can imagine that not every game is enjoyable by everybody, but it wasn't the controls, it was you. I don't complain because I can't pull off anything complicated in Street Fighter IV.

As for controls, PC was better due to the fact that you could 'aim' where you were going more accurately, instead of making tiny course corrections constantly (which slows you down).

Yes, the narrative sucked, but the difficulty was kind of the point. The truly fluid stuff you only learn when the situation makes it necessary, e.g. doing the time trials ladders and trying to squeeze yourself into a top spot. It's only impressive when it's difficult.

A lot of games do the Santa Hats on Christmas thing, actually.

Uh, that's the Zombie mode. It's a well publicized feature, not an Easter Egg, and you don't have to let the credits run.

That's not any less confusing. How will they turn it into an MMO?

UPDATE #2: We found this old Q&A with the founders of Brownmark. They say they were completely suprised by the South Park "homage" (their word, not ours) and even sent Trey and Matt a thank-you e-mail.

That and filing 2 years later. Yeah, great case you guys have there.

Or hell, here's a thought, they release a mouse and keyboard on consoles and we no longer have to keep dumbing these games down for anyone.

Mouse & Keyboard is not some magical, all-powerful control combination for every game out there. Some games are downright painful to play without analog sticks and many developers get lazy when they don't have to be frugal with their controls.
Or more likely, they just stuff 5 context sensitive actions onto one button.

Someone needs to buy it and kill it to make sure Fallout 4 isn't using this abomination.

Civ V is fun (I've played 75 hours according to steam), it could be more fun with patches/expansions, but I currently don't think it will ever be as deep or fun as civ4:BTS.
You're comparing it to Civ IV with 2 expansions though.

Either you like stealth games, or you don't like stealth games and thus never get good enough to figure out that in the good stealth games everyone likes, there's plenty of slack left for not following 'exactly' what the level designer had in mind. Except Splinter Cell 1 and 2. Those are ridiculously linear.

I love how Craig's commitment to "Trilogy nobody's heard of" is somehow going to keep him from shooting another Bond movie, which is what put him on the map to begin with.

The Milennium Trilogy isn't exactly obscure. I think the only way you could have not heard of it is if you haven't set foot in or near a book store in the last few years.

I like him in the Bond movies (the only Bond movies I like, to be honest), but he's not really going from mainstream to unheard of indie films here.

The Millenium Trilogy is so not not obscure, that when people on TV talk about it, they don't even have to introduce what it is. I mean, what book besides Harry Potter can you say that about? It's even more amazing considering the books weren't even written in English.

Id rather know if it fixes the horrid problems with new vegas and the face stuff (or is this one that will fall on the developers?)
Face stuff is a file corruption bug. Reverify game files until there are no errors.

I tried it until the very day of release... but I failed. I couldn't do it.

I couldn't get to understand the hype around this game. Everything I've seen in every gameplay movie of Fallout: New Vegas is stuff I've seen almost 3 years ago by now. I bled Fallout 3 dry to a point I didn't even wanna think about the game anymore. Now this new game is coming out and everyone is hysterical about it.. and all I'm seeing is Fallout 3 all over again.
Because the things we're looking are is stuff that can't be shown in 1 minute trailer video of Super Orcs getting their heads blown off. We're looking for it to be more like Fallout 1 & 2 - not shitty Bethesda writing, a good plot, meaningful quests, a consistent and logical game world, tons of ending permutations.

I get a free DLC with my D2D purchase for this so it will be interesting to see what all that will end up being, maybe I'll get just the mongols free, like everyone else, or maybe I'll get the mongols and babs free.

I purchased from D2D as well, for the free DLC. The thing is, I picked up the Digital Deluxe Edition, so I've already got Babylon and I should be getting the Mongols for free. I wonder what my free DLC will end up going toward.
They never said the DLC you would be getting for free wouldn't be free for everyone else too
