The single player / squadron 42 aspect of the game is suppose to be very similar to past Wing Commander games. Now that they've reached the $5M stretch goal there will be 50 missions (branching) in the campaign. That for me is worth the price of admission regardless of how the persistent universe turns out.
Yeah, that is why I kept my early adopter backing of $30 (I was going to back out if it didn't look better by now). At the KS launch it didn't sound like the SP campaign would be much, but now that it has raised so much money and the SP has been increased to 50 levels, I feel my $30 will be well spent. I also added another $25 for a shirt since they are pretty nice looking.

Ever heard the expression "Never sell property that could be leased"? Fox does a similar thing with IP, they don't sell a lot of it compared to other studios. It usually has to be a real money pit for them to divest it.
Yeah but it sucks because that was one of the few tv shows I actually liked! Dang Fox..

Hmmmm... You know, it occurs to me I could easily get the DVDs from Netflix. I remember there was an issue with either the airing of the shows or the DVDs being "out of order". What's the scoop on that?
I believe the DVDs are in correct order. It was Fox that decided to change the order of the series on tv because they thought it would get more people into the show by starting it with some later episodes.. but of course it didn't.

I heard that later SyFy wanted to buy the rights to the show from Fox after the series was cancelled but for some reason they didn't want to and they never did anything else with it except for that movie.
Mr. Tact wrote on Nov 15, 2012, 09:58:
Well if they do, it would be one of the few things I had interest in which was actually available for streaming from them. That's why I'm on DVD service only with them.
Me too.. but also cause I like getting the Bluray.

I'm right there with you, and I've read more of it than I have watched. Amazingly I haven't watched Firefly. Many have told me I should, but I never got around to it, and now I figure there is no way it can match the build up -- so my desire to watch it is lessened.
I thought Firefly was great! I enjoyed it more than many other sci-fi shows I've seen. It had just the right amount of space cowboy with a little humor. I wish Fox had sold the rights to the show to SciFi (or SyFy?) so that they could have continued the series and probably would have done a much better job of it.
nin wrote on Nov 15, 2012, 09:34:
I've never been a fan of the idea of a space western, but found Firefly very enjoyable. And while I may be in the minority for suggesting it, skip the movie and pretend it didn't happen.
Yeah, I didn't like the movie as much as the series either but it wasn't bad..

Why don't they sell the PC version for $50 like they used to? Especially for a downloadable copy. It used to be only console games that sold for $60 new.

Yes the Episodes can be played as SP as well.
Cool, thanks! I'll probably wait and get all 10 episodes together once they're all released since I have a lot of other games to play still.. including the main Halo 4 campaign... although I'm sure it's not very long.

Does anyone know if the Spartan Ops episodes can be played single-player? Everywhere I've looked it says they are multiplayer co-op missions, but I hope they can be played SP too..

46. Re: Win8 Exclusive DirectX 11.1? Nov 12, 2012, 15:58 John

Yeah, or just install something like StartIsBack for Win8 and you can bypass the Metro Start screen completely. At first I didn't like Win8 either because of the whole Metro thing, but once I found that it is basically just another desktop window which can be bypassed, I didn't mind it so much.

Get StartIsBack instead would be my suggestion - cheaper, uses the old native Start Menu code they had to leave in so jumplists could work and you won't be supporting crazy ass weirdo Brad as an added bonus
Cool, I'll check that out! I'm currently testing Win8 on a dual-boot setup and having the old start menu will make it much better.

And yet again, no they didn't. With Republicans filibustering everything in sight, and the Dems without a filibuster-proof majority, they really did not have control.
Let me rephrase that, they had the majority in 2008. The way the country is split nowadays you can't expect either side to get complete control.

Wowbagger_TIP wrote on Nov 7, 2012, 15:58:
Too centrist to be very good, unfortunately, but it's still a hell of the lot better than continuing our completely broken and stupidly expensive system the way we have been.
And it's still getting more expensive all the time..

Its amazing how my liberal friends spin the $16 trillion debt as not a big deal. GG America. Time to invest in gold.

Maybe they don't see at as a big deal because they just re-elected a president who has promised to reduce it, and laid out a plan on how to do so.
Yeah, we'll see how that turns out.

As far as investing in gold, China is buying up a lot of that.
