SO what would ya think about recreating Pac-Man then? It's still a huge fav for most people (I never liked it THAT much myself). But it was certainly the one to boost sales on the consoles at that time.

I had an Xbox a while back, and being I haven't used one of those consoles since the original nintendo, and side scrollers, racing was the only thing I could do on it. (halo would have been cool, thank god their doing a PC port for it so I can see the game/story for it.) but I can't do any other games but racing, basically, im a keyboard and mouse man now, and I simply can't use a controller for FPS games of any sort. Very branded. Very Sad hehe.
But anyway..I tried NFS HS2 on the Xbox, and I will say it is apsolutely equal to the PC, not a damn thing is different. There was no benefit to having that game or the xbox for racing games only, so it's sold. But... I played the demo HS2, and had posted comments on it too, being very upset of course. The Xbox was the same, I had no reason to buy it. I almost bought it this weekend, cause it was only 20 bucks, and I REALLY wanted to keep the NFS franchise in my collection, it's one of the longest running of it's type really, and while not Quake fan based, close enough for a game that EA doesn't have the balls to make run like q3 on the internet. (there online thing is a total and comlete joke., they wouldn't know lag if it slapped them in the face) But anyway..back to my store story...I didn't buy it. It will be the one bad lashing...as I see it's getting anyway since the PC version is so cheap. So sad...RIP NFS.
Motorcity was pretty slick i must say though. I did the beta testing for that along with 30k other ppl I think. Could have been a great thing. They had the music and themes down so well, when I was in that game, I really had that "feeling" like so many games try to immerse you in, that I was in that time, and the whole time playing it, i was in another world. What a great idea, bad result.
Why can't Carmark be twins? One for FPS, and one for racing games

I gladly pay for all incredible software games. That being said, I own ALL NFS titles from the 1st one. I do NOT own HS2. While they stretched the grahpics a little more, they lost all the things that made playing NFS fun in the first place. No replay views was a REALLY bad move. If i wanted to see it replayed the same way I drove it, I would drive it again, or film me on the couch playing it. That has NOTHING to offer. And to ME, that was the best thing about that game, was to replay the kick ass shite you just did. Add cops and you can have some funny replays, and some kick-ass ones. Then they add Helicopters, and while the police give up cause it's to "dangerous", and then the chopper drops flaming barrles in the middle of the road/populated area..OMG. The producer of this game was a n00b, and drunk too. Bring back the older style if you EA folks dont want to ruin the NFS franchise. I noticed at Circuit City this weekend, NFS:HS2, $19.00. That's a clear indication, no one likes it. NFS3, 4, 5, all stayed at 50 bucks for well over a year. gawd EA piss's me off. How stupid can you get. I can see making a mistake, we all do that, but they flat out hit the squirrel in the road, then backed up over it to see what it was...(indicating 2x stupidity)...ok..I'll stop. I still play PU though. Just to watch the replays of my kick ass driving.

Bah! nothing new here folks. this is the same thing all q3 engine games do. pure or not pure. hacks for both. cheating will NEVER be stopped. your best bet for a fair game, is a personal clan of friends, and buying your own hosting service where you play it your way. That's what my q3 clan ended up doing. we simply couldnt put up with the kids or the cheating anymore. I remember the days when gaming was FUN!

Being able to say "You don't have a GeForce card? Sorry, we can't help you with that fatal error" could probably save them a wad of cash when it comes to technical support. ---------- People call technical support for games? damn! i don't think i've ever called support for games, i try not to even call MS, but sometimes my position requires it.(or should I say my boss forces me)

I like T2 tons. Like I like bf1942 tons. the problem with those games the MOST, imo, is people. i gota say it's tough to find decent ppl to play games with anymore. Sure im in a clan of about 4-5 yrs, but q3 bores me, and most of them wont move on to nicer stuff, or expand the mind. course, it is a clan of mostly friends from all around but still. T2 could have been sue perb... with some real VOIP and team work. Just like Bf1942 could be. to many kids ruin the game. I almost wish you could filter kids vs. adults like those xbos's can do, it wouldnt be perfect, but who wants to hack into a game of old folks? and besides, it would be "better". Alot of those/these games have alot of potential, IF played the way they were designed to be played. Sad... Ug...I almost sound as though I'm loosing my will to play what I enjoy the most...maybe I'm getting old. Na..it's the punk ass kids.

I think the most correct statement to make after that (and it's my opinion anyway) is that...this is one game, that they have to do it right the first time. This game will either sink like an anvil, or fly like an eagle. I don't think from a fan/story point of view there is any middle ground. This doesn't mean, i like it I will play it. I mean, SINK, or FLY.....

1. Your all right. (wheww, that saved alot of typing)
I did MCO beta testing. Loved it when the servers worked. Can't find the logic in paying montly fee for game when I got hundreds already that I don't have to pay for. Guess I'm to logical.
2.As for " I wonder if the current slow down in PC Online games, primarily of the MMO sort is due to consumers being a bit more conscientious of there spendings and wanting to hold out for more developed bug free console versions.
I would have to say, like most technology we achieve here (ie; www), we find it, figure it out, develope it, slap a price tag on it and sell it. (ie; the airplane) Eventually though, as humans (cough) we learn, then we learn fast, and snowball ourselves. At this point, I honestly feel as though I would be better to have been born about the same time as Picard on star trek or something. Most technology out now bores me, and im gripping for more, something better. Same ExAcT! thing with games. We've seen it. Most of the online world interested in games have come into their own, figured out how to play etc, with the help of the experienced gamers, etc. Ppl learn fast, expect more. It's just the way it is. We all want the next step now is the real problem, and while some companies are making more stuff, no ones taking the "next" step. (ie; unreal2) Ehh..i could go on, but I wana find fredricksons mom!
Lata!

Ya, I think the engine, the game is incredible, and they obviously worked really hard on it. With the small additions to the game over all, it's very "solid feeling". I do get the EAX crashes, pain in the butt.
But I will still say sucked, not in a rude way, but in a complete disappointment way. It's not of the expectation mentioned so much, it's of the original Unreal, coming from Vaporware, really expanding on FPS possibilities, and creativeness. That Unreal changed the "same ole boring fps" into something more exploring, and fun etc. Unreal2 (kinda like a car)really had alot of engine power, but the model and design(story) engineering went way back dated, no progress forward with the effort put behind the engine.

I think all your opinions are correct. Coming from Unreal1, i think there is apsolutely no connection at all to Unreal2. Unreal1 really did set a new expectation in it's time. I remember when we all first saw the opening scene, new, fresh ideas, beautiful graphics, and sound. Creepy, pulling you in. the game was the same, you couldnt put it down, wanting to see what was next. then I tried Unreal2. I am going for the 7th relic, but thinking of just uninstalling it, cause honestly, i've had to push myself to play the game. I feel like they turned battlezone2 into a FPS only game. Theres aspsolutely nothing new in this game. it has nothing to do with the original, and it's extremeley poor story telling in far reach to UT. The between level ship flying thr th "same_space" it was before. The hotkey for quickload, which doesnt work, so when you die, and you will shitloads, cause the AI aim is perfect from 500yards away with a damn shotgun, you gota wait to die, fully, all the way, THEN you get to reload the level again, or save point, if it doesnt crash cause of sound again, and do it again. And here's a good point. the replay of where you died last time, easy to fix next time, this isnt a lucas arts game with more puzzle and trickery than just remember where that guy is standing, lob a nade next time problem solved. the whole game is like playing concentration in cards. not much challenge in that.
graphics=nice, only thing new are items ie; grass is real, doesnt disappear based on video card capabilities or distance. technology= not a new thing anywhere in the game. Unreal1 set new expectations, whats the point in having a 2? just call this an addon, or like some other fella above said, morph space invaders IIxx (2000 yrs in the future or past or something) Skarj with jedi powers...blocking all your bullets with there razor fingernails...OK...ya! Sigh..I could go on. For a game with opposite engineering involved in it's creation, which is incouraged, this was a total disappointment. I'm sad now.

Ive been having a problem with the ti4200 for a while now. talk about a problem thats more than described, it's enough to drive you mad. As an expert in the field, i'd tried tons of solutions, and finally took it back from where I bought it. They argued. duh. general crappy CS. Monarch Computer, i told them, if it's not bad, swap it then. I know it is, even though I cant show it to you. Finally, i pitched enough fit I suppose they swapped for a new one. I came home with the same problems. Nothing on the net at all about the problem, only a couple threads about nv errors, which is what you get when the problem happens. This one should last about 3-4 months before it becomes unusable, I'll wait till Gainward gets their correct products shipping since they are shipping out the same defective cards now. Sad sad...

It would be logical for them not to post info on that ....easy to find anyway about the refresh rates, as using that incorrectly can blow your monitor. Those of us advanced enough will know how to use it, and right on the spot, those that don't end up learning, but Nvidia isnt the teacher, and therefore not held responsible. Just my thought anyway.
