All done. While I was putting it together between Amazon and NewEgg, I had a 65.00 special price SSD from NewEgg on there and they sold out - damn. Added a similar one with great performance anyway.

2nd_floor wrote on Sep 19, 2012, 15:09: I agree/understand that manual saves give you complete freedom to reload or replay parts to use up less ammo, but I don't think it is the right way to challenge the player. It takes far too much control away from you. You are forced to play the game as the developers want you to, and for me that ruins it.
You look back at Doom or Quake of the 90s, and tell me if they were not challenging enough, with saving in front of every door (Carmack recommended saving often) and being able to use ammo and health as you wished. You often had to replay parts even with manual saves, because you die so often sometimes.
You have to kill the same number of enemies in the game, regardless of where and how often you save. True that you can better use your ammo/health if you choose. I think there are better ways of making a game challenging though, without making it so frustrating to play parts over and over.
For me checkpoint-only saves take the enjoyment out of the game by 75%! What makes it fun is playing it the way I want to, and with checkpoint-only saves I basically can not do that anymore. Yea, but games arent "challenging" anymore. Some games dont even have difficulty settings anymore. Quake and Doom were far superior to the level of difficulty and heart pounding fun action than games have now. Most are on the rails shooters with scripted events and boring battles. So not such a good comparison - but I get it.
Checkpoint saves are fine. But there are times I want my own save spot. I like how Borderlands series does it. Save at a checkpoint, certain pole, or when you LEAVE the game. I dont need another save option. I agree with a previous post that it is largely over used and takes away from the game when you can hit auto save every 30 seconds. Lets go back to game mechanics like Demon's Souls. |

If you're like me and enjoy movie scores, Looper's is out, but it's digital download only...
UNLESS you go here and get one limited to 3000 copies, and features additional music not in the digital release: http://www.lalalandrecords.com/Looper.html
These guys are legit, I've ordered from them before, including: http://www.lalalandrecords.com/Batman89.html (sadly out of print now)
I have the Star Wars HUGE box set from the 80s in CD format, also have original score from Batman and that set they have on that site...I think. Such great music. |

Thanks Creston. Was going to get a hold of you anyway. Think I will end up with a mixture of my stuff and yours. Need to do more homework on the RAM and SSDs.
Probably going to go with that CPU, as the MOBO I like allows for a future upgrade. Only about a 200 dollar diff, and if I get a 660Ti I can get a free extra copy of BL2 I can trade. |

Thanks for any input. I am thinking i7 3770k, but could be pushed to something else, as I am looking for a nice CPU with some OC abilities that doesn't require liquid. I will update my top post as I decide on stuff.
Do not need: Mouse, kb, monitor, OS, sound card.
Mobo: I am a Gigabyte fan, but looking for a nice OC combo with a decent CPU and possible upgrade path.
GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD5H $180
CPU: i-7 3770k $300
CPU Cooler: NOT LIQUID. But something that works nicely with the case and is quiet. (needed)
OS HD: Crucial M4 256GB $187
Data HD: 2TB $100
GPU: (Nvidia) GIGABYTE GV-N670OC-2GD GeForce GTX 670 2GB (has the 3 fans on it) $400
PSU: Corsair 850 Watts 80PLUS $180
Memory: No idea. Haven't researched this stuff in a long time. (needed)
Case: COOLER MASTER HAF X (RC-942-KKN1) $158
Antec P280 $110
Current build, depending on cooler choice and how many hard drives I use. Looking at right around $1800.

I'm surprised it's still at $15 on XBLA. I am not surprised XBLA is still full price. Go look at their full game downloads. They are selling 10 year old games at 30.00 that you can get at Half.com for 5-10 bucks....they don't give 2 shits about gamers. |
