Wife and I went to see Lords of Salem......terrible.....terrible.....terrible....terrible.

I get it, it is an homage to terrible black and white flicks that he likes, but wow. Glad we went to the matinee.

You've never heard the word furnace? Cereal? A fiery furnace? We call them furnaces too. In fact I don't even know what you'd call them otherwise.

We use the phrase "heater" here as well. Hence calling a "heat and air guy" as opposed to a "plumber" that Blue mentioned the other day.

Also we have "pop" here and not "soda".

It is because he has a boiler and iron/metal units in each room I assume. I have central air and a gas furnace with vents. I assumed Blue had the same, but it now makes sense that a plumber was there instead of an HVAC person.

Not a fan of boilers, we had one blow in a room once in the house I was renting at the time. HUGE MESS!

Full circle.

Like I said, I replaced mine a couple months ago (furnace) that was about 13 or so years old. I got the 98.5% unit, and it heats the house with 1/2 the gas in 1/2 the time. Technology is amazin.

Blue, if available in your area, get Direct TV. They have a DVR that allows you to record up to 5 shows at once and stream it between any TV in your house.

That's a sore point. I've had DirecTV for over 12 years, and my loyalty is rewarded by them only offering their cool new DVRs to new customers. Grrr.

Man a 12 year account without interruption is awesome retention currency. Call up, ask to cancel your account and they will forward you to retentions who will definitely get you a subsidized DVR to stick around.

Yup. I am on my 2 years next month, and I will be calling to "cancel" to get a lower price on their most expensive package setup.

2002 called, it wants it's joke back...

Mean while, I'm playing Homefront. That game is FUCKING HORRIBLE. Why does it have any fans, why did it get 70/100 metacritic. This game is truly the most lazy, horrible thing I have played :|, to celebrate Earth day, let's remove this thing (Homefront) from the Planet.

The Internet: A warning from 50 years in the future
LMAO, that is awesome... and I'm a web developer Bigcry

what have we done.

Yeah, I started it on the Xbox a few weeks back. Miserable. I mean, they did nothing right. Even the presentation - a too long movie to start the game. The loading icon is a CD spinning rather than something special to the game. Subtitles are in the exact middle of the screen and sometimes disappear after a second and several seconds before they're spoken.

The gameplay itself? I had to die about 20 times in one of the first fights. They kept throwing grenades at me, but there was no way to tell how close they were to me or if they'd damage me at all.

I made it to the part where they mention the something or other, then a giant vehicle comes smashing through the house I was in. It was supposed to be a big event, I guess, but I started firing thinking it was the enemy, then realized I was supposed to control it, which was super boring.

Out the game went. I've put 33 hours into XCOM on the PC since.

No one complained about the long ass intro to Half Life.
Loading is actually part of the story, articles and what not - maybe that is an xbox issue.
Subs were fine on PC.
Yea some parts are confusing, but you have saves everywhere, so not a big deal.

I actually enjoyed it, not really defending it, but I thought it was a decent linear SP shooter.

I dismissed this with barely a glance when it was released. Looking again it appears to have a greater potential than I thought. The price is certainly right, might have to try and find some time for it...

Well, if you wanna be super cheap, it goes on sale for like 1.49 all the time. Add in another 1.00 for the addon. I have friends with over 300 hours in the game. I have 112 myself, and another 20 on a machine that isn't on the STEASM cloud. (laptop I used on a road trip)

Closed Captioning Fail.

Well, there are 2 types of technologies for CC, one is like your phone that types what it thinks it hears, and the other is someone actually typing.

I once had a client who owned a studio that would CC movies and tv shows. Was pretty damn cool to watch and chat with the people that worked there. They got to see their favorite tv shows weeks in advance to CC them.

Super Meatboy did nothing for me, so I completely skipped this one (that, and the setting/subject matter seemed unappealing).

I never played Zelda, so I have no idea what "Zelda gameplay" is, but this game sounds like some kind of rogue-like?

I am not sure I understand how anyone, anywhere, at anytime, could comment on video games and not know what "Zelda gameplay" is....I just don't have words for how confused I am....if you google zelda gameplay, then google BIA gameplay....I would think it would be self explanatory....on top of that...are you saying you have never played the original Zelda? I mean....I......but........

Doesn't your provider offer On-Demand of prime time / big popular shows, seems at least TWC does around here.

If you're DVR'ing it, you're likely not watching it the evening it airs. If you aren't watching it the evening it airs, but you likely will in the next few weeks, just use the on-demand features provided.

Or go with an XBMC option on the main screen.

If I remember correctly, he has DirecTV, and yes, most primetimes hows are on Demand.

Yeah this game is awesome. So much content its unbelievable.

I got all the way to the chest once with IPECAC and then got the Mirror which made the game unbeatable because all of my bomb shots would float around me instead of going anywhere. RNGGG!!!!!

I keep isaac wiki open with shift-tab for a steam browser and if i dont know what it is i look it up. doing that leads to some pretty sweet builds. also do yourself a favor and use Cain to increase chance of good item drops. Also, if you beat first 2 boses and you dont have decent powerups, might as well start over....

A plumber?

Yeah, a plumbing and heating guy. As opposed to?

Actually, you should call an electrician. unless you ran out of gas or your vents are clogged a plumbing/heating guy would take a long time figuring out the problem... if ever. The furnace itself is operated and controlled by motors, relays and switches which electricians are trained to work with and have all the troubleshooting experience... not to mention a volt meter

If you work on a furnace, you have all of that, and you know how to fix it top to bottom.....it isn't like a tire guy working on the engine...
What do you mean "work on a furnace"? the plumber runs the gas line the heating guy runs the vents and drops the furnace where it has to go. The manufacturer sets the limits and usually don't need to be changed. A electrician hooks up the power, thermostats ect.. Outside of furnaces Electricians also install electric motors, switches, relays... all of which are out of the scope of work for plumbers and tin bashers and those are the parts that go 90% of the time. But go ahead, call whoever you want... one time my car wouldn't start, the tow truck driver I called had a look and found the alternator lead had come loose, so anything is possible.

Well, considering I JUST HAD A NEW FURNACE PUT IN, yea, I probably don't know what I am talking about....

Word is they are Chechen, but Wahhabi muslims. Big surprise there. It boggles the mind that it's near impossible for me to immigrate to the US. Yet, they seem to have a never ending supply of green cards for scumbags from shitholes all over the globe. And that really pisses me off seeing as my ancestors got here in the beginning of the 1700s and I do have distant relations in the US - in Mass. at that! I have skills the US needs. I know the language, the culture, the customs, the history, and already have plenty of friends throughout. Scored 86% on the citizenship exam. So why is it so difficult then? I guess if they're going to naturalize the illegals I won't need to immigrate, will I? Just cross over illegally and apply. Then again so will 100 million other people and who'll want to be in the US then?

Have a very close friend of mine who is a cop who has an Irish wife sho can't get citizenship....she has to go back every yar (364 day rule) and can't get work here in Minnesota. It makes me want to (insert really outrageous anti government action)......

People are such idiots. The other video link in that same screen the person who is about 100 feet away BEHIND the Mercedes and most likely in the line of fire "omg those are real guns".

People are idiots, and Darwin proves that.

One could argue that if that person shooting the video FROM BEHIND THE BAD GUYS, owned even something as simple as a deer rifle or slugged shotty, game over for bad guys.
