Legless Peach...

There are currently another eight listed for sale on eBay. The highest is currently priced at $800.

I don't understand people... Sure, those other auctions could also skyrocket, but probably not... What made that one worth so much more?

When you're dealing with collectors, you see all kinds of weirdness people for pay for (and i say this as a collector myself). Anything "rare".

It's not what somethings worth, it's what someone will pay for it.

Speaking of - got my GTAV colored vinyl set today. I see they are already $200.00 online.

They release 20 maps, all different modes, some only certain modes, and people only end up playing 2. Sucks. And one of those 2 is usually a paid for DLC.

lame.

I did jump in BF3 last night for a bit. Game is still alot of fun.

I have almost 600 hours in Skyrim and have yet to finish it. I go back to it from time to time, but it just doesn't hold me long. It's a weak RPG IMO. I never heard of The Elder Scrolls until Fallout 3 came out and everyone called it Obilivion with guns, so I had to see what Oblivion was. I ended up buying it during a Steam sale, but only played it for a few hours. Skyrim is my first real dive into TES world. Initially I liked the idea of skills leveling up as you used them, but it wasn't long before I began to dislike it. It kills off the whole "character building" aspect of RPGs, and makes it so you have grind to level up skills you wouldn't normally use just so you can to level up to get a perk point to use in a skill tree you do use.

I think what really puts me off the most are the quest. I have hardly done any of the main quests, they just didn't do a good job in making me feel the need to do it. A friend of mine was playing at the same time, but he had a day head start because I was out of town the day it released. At the beginning of the game after you escape the dragon attack, the guy you escape with says you should split up, so I did. I just wandered and did side quests. At first I kind of enjoyed being free to do and go where I wanted to discover quests on my own, but felt that what I was doing had no purpose. My friend kept telling me about these awesome battles he was having with dragons, but I had yet to see a single one. It turns out it was because they don't show up until you do the first part of the main quest line. The reason I hadn't done that was because I split up like the guy said. My friend said he followed him and when you do he tells you to go to see the Jarl, who then gives you the first of the main quests.

Then some of the side quests are just filler junk quests, and at times don't even make sense, like I walk into a town for the first time and some stranger asks me to deliver some valuable item for them. The quests are too linear. They're mostly all go to A, do B, come back for reward. There's no branching or alternate ways to accomplish most of them.

No really, Skyrim is ankle-deep. You can finish the game, go around talk to NPCs, and they'll treat you like nothing happened. There are far too few choice&consequence checks, and the world isn't really reactive in any meaningful way.

I agree with you about Skyrim being shallow, but disagree somewhat about its reactivity to you. It's not like they have the internet and camera phones where people can get instant updates on what's going on in the world. They have books, so I'm sure they probably have some form of news papers. How is some random citizen supposed to know you are the dragon born and all of your epic deeds? Then there are times when people know about things I did when they shouldn't.

huh? A "weak" RPG that you spent 600 hours in?

I am confused.....

I lost my best friend today. He went to sleep at 2:45 today after fighting kidney failure. He was only 8 years old. He was so smart I had to put locks on the gates to keep him from opening them. He loved to lean and bark at the birds and go for rides.

I don't want anyone to be sad. I just wanted to tell some one. I don't do Facebook. His name was Shooter and he was loved and is already missed.

I am happy that you got the time with your pup that you did. Shooter sounds like he was a great companion. I re-home my youngest dog (5 years old) tomorrow.....going to be tough. He will be happier where he is going.

Some key titles are back on sale for some reason on Steam.

South Park is $14 and Wolfenstein $20.

Thanks for the heads up. Picked up SP, as I know I'll have some free time w/o the kids around to play this at the end of the month.

Grabbed SP. Fun game.

A-10 Returns to Duty

I have never understood why people call this plane ugly. It's always reminded me of an eagle gliding on the wing. I also don't understand the insanity of retiring the A-10 and instead using F-16s or F-35s for CAS. They simply can't take the punishment that the A-10 can and survive and return. They should just keep the A-10s running until CAS drones exist in enough numbers to take over the role, ideally piloted by the army on the ground near the fighting. Fuck this remote piloting from half way around the world shit. Give that pilot some stakes in the game and a relationship with the men he's protecting, even if it's 10 or 20 away. Still in the same theater.

Youtube of A-10 strafing Taliban positions.

A10 is by far my most favorite airplane out there. Nothing is cooler than those engines.

In case anyone else was trying to figure out what the fuck "boxen" meant:

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/boxen

Whenever the register uses slang like this, in my mind I imagine a drug addict writing these articles. Because to me for some reason, slang like that is linked to drug addiction and the lowest of the lowest human beings. Guess I am weird ;p

Like Brian Regan? A boxen of donuts?

pffhahaha there's still a slot for people's icq numbers in people's profiles.

I have no idea why, but for some reason my ICQ number is forever embedded into my memory. 10734308. I remember it easier than I do my phone number which I've had for 10 years and I haven't used my ICQ number for probably 15 years.

The PS gold set works fine for PC/PS4 but I think the Bone uses a proprietary port for headset connections. I don't know for sure though, someone else can chime in there. In typical Microsoft fashion it appears there is a [url=http://www.xbox.com/en-CA/xbox-one/accessories/headsets/stereo-headset-adapter#fbid=zzOhwd9K5yY]peripheralp.url] for this too. I agree with nin, its a good set for the money. Wireless headphones quickly get into absurd prices and often have issues, that's the only pair I've ever been happy with.

So does the PS gold work with just my regular tv too?

anyone think that GTA5/LOU bundle will be cheaper than 399?

I'd be very surprised. They're basically giving you two if the systems best games.

Newegg had a deal where you did a "checkout with visa" and it knocked like $25 off, but I don't think it's valid anymore...

Amazon is back up to 499. Walmart, best Buy and PS store all have it at 399 still....

That's shitty 3rd party scalpers @ amazon. You could wait on them, they were out over the weekend, restocked briefly, and are apparently out again. Not seeing it at newegg, either.

Just did a quick search in the Minneapolis area. Every single retail store has it in stock. Amazon now charges for tax around here, so I can just go get one whenever I want this weekend....no bigs. Thanks guys. Hit me up if you have wireless headphone ideas. Don't want to spend a ton, but something good.

Is there something that works for tv/ps3/ps4/360?
