Trevellian wrote on Jan 15, 2013, 22:08: Dead Island was a fucking terrible experience and myself and the 3 people I played coop with wanted a full refund after finishing the garbage ass game.
The fact that it was allowed to have a Game of the Year edition, because ONE online review site gave it game of the year, is appalling to me. They were allowed to release it right before christmas too so parents would see "Game of the Year" on the box and go "oh my kids like zombies maybe they'll like this" and sell more copies to unsuspecting victims.
The first game was the ONLY GAME I have actually felt I wasted 50 bucks on. Normally I love Zombie games, but the story was horrible, the combat was horrible, the animations were horrible, and it was just all in all awful.
How it made enough money to warrant a sequel is beyond me. uh...what!? Ok, the game sucked so bad, you and 3 others FINISHED IT in co-op mode? On top of that, you paid 50! bucks for it? Let me guess, console. The game was like $30.00.
ooooh...look at steamprices, it RETAILED for 49.99 on opening day. I am pretty sure I got a preorder for a lot less than that, or I bought a 4 pack witih friends. I rarely...RARELY pay full price retail - that is just being a bad consumer.
/edit: Yup, checking steam, 4 pack with Verno and others. Game is a hoot. I have it for both xbox and pc. Buddy brings his xbox over and we sit side by side on 40 inch LCDs playing. Other than Saints Row 3, I haven't had that much fun with co-op in a hellaofalongtime. |

jdreyer wrote on Jan 14, 2013, 15:33: This is exactly what I was talking about the other day with Anon petitioning the WH for use of DDoS as a protest tool: - Chain yourself to the door of Walmart and block people from shopping for a few hours = arrest and a day or so in jail. - DDOS a site and block people from shopping for a few hours = arrest and FIVE YEARS in jail.
My general feeling is that we've become too much of a prison-oriented society in the US. When the laws for classic crimes (burglary, theft, etc.) were revised 50-100 years ago, they were harsh but reasonable: you can get 10 years for manslaughter or 5 years for assault, etc. But when cyber crime laws were written 10-15 years ago, we were so much about throwing people into jail (3 strikes laws, etc.) that the laws don't really fit the crimes. Lobbyists were able to push through much stricter penalties than should have been necessary to deter aberrant behavior: $5000 per illegal song downloaded, 5 years jail for a DDoS attack, 35 years jail for DL-ing JSTOR and throwing it on the web.
These laws really out of balance and need to be challenged under the eight amendment of the Constitution:
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted. You can't compare locking people out of one Walmart to locking people out of Walmart.com. Walmart.com's sales dwarf any individual store. Plus there's more of a trickle. On top of that - it takes EFFORT to protest in real life. Protesting from your computer is a joke, lazy, and should severly punished. It falls under the interstate cyper crime laws. Federal, not local. |

It is 2013 - he is posting online about his depression. It is the duty of those around him to help him. Take it as you want. Suicide leaves a huge swatch of destruction - and it can be stopped. People just don't step in when they should.
That being said, he also should have sought help.
There is so much "awareness" about the problem....

Errr... by just about every measurable statistic he has been the best QB basically for the last three years.
Now, I have no problem saying that Brady has had a better career, and can thus be considered to be the better QB, but the past few years Rodgers has been playing better than Brady. (and Brees, and Manning etc.)
Creston Sacked something like 50 times this year. Bummer.....f that pack.
Ok lets look at stats: Although Rodgers had a slight edge with "QB Rating" Manning had: More completions More yards per throw Better % More yards per game He was also sacked 30 less times - and he is old and hurt!
The previous years, Brees matched (almost) Mannings 2012 stats, as well as Brady, beating Rodgers in all the same categories.
2010: Tom Brady Phillip Rivers Aaaron Rodgers
And in all 3 yeards, Rodgers threw 400 yards less than the top 3.
Sorry, but you are wrong.

Great games. Even though Denver lost, I enjoyed what I got to see.
Watch the difference between how Rogers will leave the game vs what Manning did after losing. Manning is classy. Walked over to Lewis (murderer) and shook his hand and chatted. Congratulated everyone that came up to him, then jogged off.
I predict cheese head will run off the field. He is a dick. |
