/drops mic, walks off of soapbox.....

One of the paradoxes prevalent in contemporary society is that while people feel compelled to be more and more individual - have their own Facebook littered with selfies, have their own opinions, act like they are a special snowflake, etc. - they are also strangely compelled to take less responsibility for their actions, blaming other people, the government, the police, whatever. It's paradoxical because the entire concept of freedom, to be an individual, hinges on having personal responsibility, so this combination of behaviors creates another generation - the kids of these people - that simply does not operate in normal society.

I know because I'm getting to the age...my brother, my friends...where people start having kids and I watch my nephews, my cousins, my friend's kids, and you can see it in action. They raise their kids to be gluten free special snowflakes who have their ass hand-wiped by their parents and then they get into school and simply malfunction, and then these parents find something to blame...it was the vaccines, is was the teachers, etc., taking no responsibility for their own parenting, which then just passes down to the new generation. It's an epidemic.

Well said, better than I did - my emotions get me on this stuff....I try to raise my son and nieces/nephews to respect. The same way I was brought up.

I'm sorry, I know it's usually against store rules if you work there. But if that kid was doing that in the store I worked at he would have been restrained WAY before he did that much damage. Mostly because I wouldn't want to have to clean it up and explain it to the upper management.

/grabs mic, gets on soapbox

The USA has gotten to the point where they are scared to enforce rules, laws, best practices, and common sense. he is probably going to claim some sort of "mental illness" that isn't real, or it is made up, or his parents tell him there is something wrong with him, so he has excuses to act like this. That dude that did that at the end should have done that INSTANTLY when that kid acted up and no adult was around to claim him.

Notice how the kid crumbled the second someone grabbed him? It is because his mom (dad probably absent) doesn't do that. She is a "stop it or I will get off of my fat ass and do something" over and over and over.

This kid will not survive, and will end up in jail, thinking that it isn't his fault.

I hope his parents are called and they are charged criminally for this kid's actions. Open a civil case, you have a better chance of winning.

See this everyday. I have zero tolerance for it.

Hands down the best modem right now is the Motorola SB6141. DOCSIS 3.0, works with Comcast's fastest tiers, and none of that annoying, redundant built-in wifi bullshit. That's what your Asus RT-AC66U router is for. XD I wouldn't rent jack shit from Comcast.

Yup that is the one I got. (45 bucks on sale) I use a Linux 3rd party commercial firewall for my network. I then have a Cisco commercial grade wireless network on the inside of that. Nothing very fancy, but all very heavily modified and lots of big brother bells and whistles. I miss my network days.

But 70% of the population being ineligible to serve?

If it were true, I would expect some of the remaining 30% to be forced into the military at some point if they keep standards the same. I guess those who don't want to be in the military just need to hit up the local McDonalds.
/edit. ugh. new year, bad engrish...

I have family in the military that trains incoming folks - the stuff they tell me is scary - and I am not talking about the physical stuff. If you want to be in the military (not all branches are equal) they will find a way to keep you.

The fight against cheater (why does every client get all data?)

And there is the answer to all of your lag questions....

Nothing will change, they don't care - they want you to buy the new game and they will "promise" all of these changes in the future, but not at release......we all know that dangling carrot! BF and CoD.

Comcast keeps sending me letters that say I need to switch to their new modem to unlock the best speeds. Nah, I'm cool with this 30 Mbps, you guys seem a little too eager to get me to switch and therefore it's probably bad for me in some way.

You mean Docis 3? Well, that depends on what you are paying for. I had a 2.0 a couple years ago, and called them (Comcast) and asked why I was getting the speeds I was paying for (didn't know why, didn't do any research) they said I needed a new modem.

I went and got the new one from them, but they didn't feel the need to credit me for not notifying me of the upgrade needed to get better speeds.

They are a Monopoly here in Minneapolis. Sucks.

Yea I just got a 3.0 today in the mail. Didn't realize the fee was 8, until they announced it was going to 10 last week. Last time I even thought about the fee, it was $4.75 a month.....

I have lived here for almost 9 years, and I had one of my own for a while, it died, so I just went and got one - well, they can eat it now. Jerks.

what should the headline be to be correct (i.e. what should be in place of "its")?

It's not the lack of apostrophe in its, it's how "its" does not agree with "worlds." This would fix it:

Researchers: We can detect life on other worlds through vibrations.

heh, forgot about that - "re"learned something today.... ha!

Those that use exploits have many many accounts to test their exploits on, so they purchase the S outta the game when it goes on super sale.
