There is no "tin" version of Doom 3, just a Doom 3 "with bonus" version which is just a cardboard pre-order game box with a pewter figure. boo. And I have no interest in Halo. Guess I gotta hold out to see that fancy HL2 packaging.
As an aside, I'm glad pretty much every vendor has switched to the smaller "cram more games on your shelves and mine" box.

I'm sure it's been discussed in the other thread, but Canadian retailer futureshop.ca lists it as Aug5th for PC, Oct15th for xbox. Should be rockin'.
Anyone know if there will be a tin box limited edition version? I store my game manuals in those boxes, and could use another one.

I've actually been buying the 'remastered' eps; not bad, and the price point is good. They are not, strictly speaking, remastered except in sound; the picture quality is still a tad grainy, and none of the color errors have been fixed.

BUMP WTF is this bump shit? FYI, this has historically not been the kind of site where people try to bump their own threads in an act reeking of desperate 'pay attention to me!' text-based arm-waving. The threading structure means such tomfoolery ranting and raving is pretty much confined to the story it's attached to (thank goodness), and gets swept out with the trash in two days so trolls must begin anew with their political crap talk on a GAMING SITE. jeebus.

nin, I like Robotech too, so we can both get mocked. Have the first three Remastered sets; not bad. Wasn't a maniac about it (i.e. didn't buy the various other versions that have been available), and these are at a good price point. The rest of my exposure to Anime has been somewhat 'mainstream'; Akira (Tetsuo!!!!), some SFII cartoons, little bit of those Animatrix bits... Do console RPG game cutscenes count?

Yes, I agree (http://www.bluesnews.com/cgi-bin/board.pl?action=viewthread&threadid=49600&id=175484&boardid=1&view=threads). It's certainly possible they could make an Inquisitor-based RPG in the WH40k mindset (darker than KotOR), or a fantasy based one from all the material they've produced. Even if it's based off existing campaigns, there's no doubt a bajillion people who never played those out to begin with.
As to the new 40k game being RTS instead of TBS, I'm fine with that - there were two notable turn based attempts so far (Chaos Gate, Rites of War), of which only the former really worked for me. Even SpaceHulk was hard to translate well to a PC game; if I want to play the tabletop game, I'll find a tabletop... expand the licenses.
Say what you want about LucasArts, but they took the reams of background material they had access to and tried to stretch it in a LOT of different genres, from XvT, to the pod racing game to the RPGs to the FPS to RTS (Galactic Battlegrounds), not to mention the more notable failures like Force Commander or Rebellion.

I was looking forward to it too - and I haven't tried any MMORPGs yet. Had an interest in the material.
I'm still surprised GW hasn't licensed out any material for RPGs - they have both the WH40k license (an Inquisitor game, anyone? or Necromunda?) and the WFRP/WFB license. It seems a natural for any company that has developed such a rich level of backstory and other IP to try that direction. Even a Battlefleet Gothic (or whatever it's called now) game might be a fun way to waste a few afternoons. Or some kind of epic space/planet strategy game (think Rebellion or VGA Planets - except good). oh well. The Tau Fire Warrior bit didn't appeal to me; I never played the new races. At least Dawn of War looks better than Rites of War did.

Yeah, that's unfortunate. With the rich backstory and info available, it had potential. Hopefully Climax will maybe be able to segue this into a pc based RPG or something, that would be nice. Get a little flavor from some of the classic campaigns ("The Enemy Within", perhaps) and build an RPG on that. It's a rich set of IP they have, so they should do something with it, and the RPG genre can always use more material.
Minor correction; the game was based off the old WFRP (Warhammer Fantasy RolePlay) RPG (later rereleased by Flame), rather than the tabletop game. Though I concede one could argue WFRP arose mainly due to WFB.
